The Wrestling Thread Is At Home Until Further Notice - - Part 141

I just watches Dolph's promo. Great stuff. He's another guy they have to pull the trigger on. Like someone said before, we all ***** about the misuse of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, but Ziggler is really the one who is consistently buried week in and week out.

- There were never any real plans internally for Jake "The Snake" Roberts to work the 30-man Royal Rumble match this year. WWE had Jake work the Old School RAW as a way to set the stage for his Hall of Fame induction. Officials saw that as something bigger than a quick appearance in the Rumble match.

- There is an early push within WWE to book more shows on the West Coast during December, January and February next year since the weather has been so bad on the East Coast this year.

- WWE officials were initially disappointed with the reaction that Batista got for his return but when the ratings came in and they were high, officials decided that it wasn't Batista's fault. They blamed it on the fans in Dayton, Ohio. The feeling now is that Dayton won't be getting a pay-per-view anytime soon.

- Another one of CM Punk's issues with WWE is that he feels like he hasn't been fairly compensated for events in the past and that so far, nobody in the company has told him or anyone else how they will be compensated for this year's WrestleMania and other pay-per-views with the Network launching.

It's also said that Punk has been upset that no matter what happens, he will never be pushed as the John Cena-caliber face of the company. Punk at one point pushed hard to go heel again despite the fact that he was super over as a babyface because he realized that as a babyface, he'll always be number two behind Cena. His idea was to turn heel so at least he would be number one as a heel.

It's worth noting that there are a small number of people within WWE who believe the whole situation is a work but the vast majority do not. Those who believe it's legit are very much split on things. Half of the people seem to think that Punk stood up for himself and did the right thing and should be applauded. The other half feel he's being a baby about everything and shouldn't have walked out, especially without giving WWE time to write him out of the storylines. It's said to be a very polarizing issue within the company.

- As noted, last week's RAW was re-written because of the CM Punk situation. In order to keep fans from hijacking the show for Daniel Bryan like they did at the Royal Rumble the night before, WWE had Bryan cut an in-ring promo which he originally wasn't scheduled to do.

- Regarding the reaction at the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton reportedly was irate backstage after the crowd hijacked his match with John Cena.

- The split between Cody Rhodes and Goldust may come at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view where a tag team title match is expected. There are plans for Cody vs. Goldust at WrestleMania XXX this year. Goldust was originally signed as a talent through WrestleMania XXX but his deal has been extended through SummerSlam. Once that deal expires, it's expected he will become an agent backstage.

- Kevin Nash tweeted the following about Batista, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan:

"Daves a really good guy.if the office says you get the push you take it business 101.He looks the part his ring timing will improve"

"Love Punk and da Yes man. Can't we hope storyline puts them where you want them? A reason to watch?"

If that's true, I couldn't agree more with Punk. Beating HHH at this point means nothing, and HHH is too old to have a great in-ring performance. I can fully understand why Punk, who is nearing the end of his prime, would want to make the best of the years he has left. He can't do that with the likes of Kane and HHH.

Punk shoulda beat Triple H a year or two ago. Going from Undertaker to Haitch at Mania is a step down. Triple H knows it.

I just don't understand why Ziggler isn't pushed properly. He's the total package. Not only is he a good wrestler, he also has a superstar look (unlike, say, Bryan), he's a good talker and he's entertaining to watch. This is a guy who has IT. The only thing he needs is support and faith from the brass. Give him a push, put him in a good feud where his character could be developed and his abilities can shine and then just profit. But nooooooo.

He speaks his mind too much and probably isn't kissing the right ass. Using McMahon logic it's probably something stupid like they don't see him as a to guy or main eventer.

This whole Punk situation is gonna turn out like the Matt Hardy/Edge situation, where they will take a real life situation and work it into their storyline once the dust settles..

I think he just doesn't have the right supporters back stage. Otherwise I think he'd be as big/popular as Punk or Bryan or Cena.

I have to believe he was made an example of for everyone backstage, so that they all just don't start thinking they can speak their minds in interviews or during promos.

They should send Austin, Taker, or Heyman to talk with Punk if Vince really wants him back. Not saying it would change Punk's mind, but it's three guys he respects and likes.

It's just so funny that Triple H apparently feels disrespected by Punk saying a feud with him is not a big enough for Wrestlemania. Triple H has had a habit of telling guys they weren't big enough or didn't have what it takes. Now he's on the receiving end of such words and he can't handle it. :funny:

I was watching Wrestling With Shadows the other day, particularly the Montreal incident. When Triple H was denying he had nothing to do with it, Bret's wife--former wife now--said to him what goes around comes around. My my my...

How reliable is this stuff?

I mean there's just no way the WWE officials are this stupid.

Haven't been around for awhile, but I figured I'd share with everyone what Wrestlemania card would have looked like.....

WWE World Title: Triple H(C) vs. Daniel Bryan w/Hulk Hogan: I'd have put the undisputed title on Triple H as an FU to his haters. I think it would have been gold had he hijacked the ladder match and played up being the shovel that he is all along as boss and champ. Bryan stays hot and wins the Rumble. This is always the match that should have headlined Wrestlemania 30. And yes, I throw Hogan in the mix by being in Bryan's corner to counter the authority. This would have helped bring mainstream attention to Bryan.

John Cena vs. The Undertaker: Cena turns heel and screws the Undertaker on the grandest stage.

CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar 2: Punk gets his win back

The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family: Reigns gets screwed and turns face in the process.

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus: Finally do this feud

Ambulance Match: Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler: Ziggler gets the win and looks tough as nails

Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust: We all want it

IC Title: Big E vs. Ryback: Big E beats Ryback

Work some other guys in, but thats my base card. I would have held off on Big Dave until the night after Mania when Triple Hu summons the Animal to go after Bryan.

Tag Titles: Old Age Outlaws vs. The Uso's: The Uso's finally get the straps

How reliable is this stuff?

I mean there's just no way the WWE officials are this stupid.

I think you're giving them too much credit.

gotta say I think the Punk stuff is a work from what I've heard

but it wouldnt surprise me if it were true - noone in WWE is really too sure either way

Sting's Possible Role On RAW, Several Big WrestleMania XXX Matches Considered

Source: F4WOnline

- The latest on Sting is that he still has not signed but the general feeling is that it's a foregone conclusion that he's coming in. While he's not expected to be rushed into a match at WrestleMania XXX, word is that the working idea right now is for Sting to possibly be the new RAW General Manager.

- With the drama that has unfolded within WWE in the past week, WWE creative is now looking at several different options for WrestleMania XXX. The first is a Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H match with possibly the stipulation that Bryan gets a WWE World Heavyweight Title shot at Extreme Rules in Seattle. If Bryan ends up working Triple H at WrestleMania, they may put Sheamus in a match with Kane. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt and Batista vs. Randy Orton would still happen.

Another option is John Cena vs. Triple H, Sheamus vs. Bray Wyatt and Orton vs. Batista vs. Bryan in a three-way for the belt. The other option they are looking at is Sheamus vs. Triple H, Cena vs. Wyatt and Bryan vs. Orton vs. Batista in a three-way.

At press time creative was looking at three different options. The first was HHH vs. Bryan in a singles match, maybe with the stip that if Bryan wins he gets a shot at the title in Seattle at the Extreme Rules PPV. In storyline, it was Hunter who cost Bryan the WWE Title, it was Hunter who kept stacking the odds against him when he faced Orton, and it was HHH who sent the Shield out to take Bryan out on Raw. If Bryan faces HHH they can do Cena vs. Wyatt (plan for a while), Sheamus vs. Kane and Orton vs. Batista for the WWE Title. Other options are Cena vs. HHH, Sheamus vs. Wyatt and Orton vs. Batista vs. Bryan in a three-way for the title; and Sheamus vs. HHH, Cena vs. Wyatt, and Bryan vs. Orton vs. Batista in a three-way. I don't know which way they'll go, but I do know that if Bryan isn't in the match, the crowd is going to eviscerate the Orton vs. Batista title match, particularly if it goes on last.

That part always sticks out for me.

The options with Bryan in the ME are the best ones, imo. That way you'll also prevent the crowd to an extent from burying the ME. I also like the sound of Sheamus vs. Trips. Hopefully he'd put his buddy over this time though.

Dolph's promo was awesome, but bloody heck man, he almost burst my ear drum with it.. :funny:

Ah, I see. Have they figured out how to go back the way you came once going backwards or forwards with the Time Displacement Equipment then?... :cwink: :oldrazz:

I think the boring chant for Bertie is like the boring chants this past Sunday for Cena and Orton. It's a reaction to the same guys in the same position for such a long time that the staleness has created a backlash.
Yeah, you're probably right. I still feel like it's pretty disrespectful to the talent though, especially if the they're in the ring working hard and busting their asses off. As has been said, it's the brass' fault not the talent, but unfortunately they're the ones that have to suffer for the message to get through to the higher powers.

The latest episode of Botchamania is a Royal Rumble 2014 special, just to let y'all know. :funny:

I gotta make time to see that Ziggler promo.

The triple-threats are the best option, though I can't figure out why Cena and Triple H would go at it. Unless Cena accuses Triple H of pushing CM Punk out of the company.

That part always sticks out for me.

Yeah it's some eery foreshadowing. Especially when a few months later HBK injured his back and ended up retiring for four years.

I gotta say, Ziggler could win an Academy Award for playing a dead fish.

I got a chuckle out of Rollins bigging Ambrose up on Smackdown when he said that no one even wants to challenge you for the US title. :hehe:
