thanks. I'm looking forward to your hands-on impressions of the X.

I hope the X with its liquid/vapor cooling setup and premium parts is whisper quiet.

I can tolerate "jet engine" fan noise as long as it's not constant and permanent. My Pro sometimes kicks into jet engine mode during certain games or certain parts of games. But then it goes back to being whisper quiet.

My 360, if I recall, had a more constant jet engine noise.

Makes sense. I didn't read much about the liquid/vapour cooling. Good that they're improving on that aspect if so.

sounds like a good plan.

selling your 2 original X1s can help finance the X. :yay:

and I'm sure you don't need 4 X1s. :o

I only need 2, one for the lounge and one for the bedroom. But I like keeping one at my parent's and sister's house to give me more incentive to visit them more often. :woot:

and hopefully they don't use the same wifi components in the X as they did in the original X1 and S.

cuz one thing I constantly read about was other users saying they had zero wifi/network problems with their original X1. but when they upgraded to the S, using the same network, they suddenly started having wifi/disconnect problems.

so maybe there is something specific to the S wifi chip or whatever.

so hopefully they use a different chip/component for the X.

hah. you're so crafty, Iceman. :oldrazz:

but maybe in time, you'll acquire extra Xs to leave at your parent's and sister's houses. :o

I have an S and 2 originals. I'm probably going to end up selling the 2 originals and getting 2 Xs and just leave the S at my parents and ask my sister to come over when I visit lol.

Two new DF articles and vids. One comparing Quantum Break on X vs reg X1. The other looking at HDR on Rise of TR on the X

Quantum Break:

Rise of Tomb Raider:

I'll watch these later in 4K on my 4K tv.

I'm especially excited to see the differences between X and reg X1 for Quantum Break.

well of course you'd want to keep the extra X for yourself. :cwink:

Thanks. I'll watch those later this week.

Haha yes, well I need to put that bedroom 4K TV to work. It's been having too easy a time of it lately. ;)

Also, speaking of Tomb Raider.

here's the 1st trailer for the live action TR starring Alicia Vikander.

I must say, they've captured the game look pretty good. They even have all the stuff posted on her wall like in RoTR!!

Would be good if they upgrade those components. I don't know the plans on that side of things. I did notice my friend had significantly slower downloads on the S than the original. I think it is possible that there might have been an issue there.

Haha yes. I'm also getting iPhone X so gonna have Xs all over the place!

haha.

but I'm the X Knight. I should be the one having Xs all over the place. :oldrazz:

at least I'll be starting P90X3 next week. so there's that. :o

and I'd be interested in the iPhone X if it only had a stylus like the Samsung Note line.

Haha exactly. Can't let me outX you or I'm gonna have to claim the name. ;)

Pretty cool, good luck with that!

Yeah I like the stylus on my Surface Pro 4 (great tablet btw).

really?

that's interesting and in line with the reports/experiences I read from other users.

so, maybe there IS an issue with the S wifi or something. all the more reason to wait for the X.

however, from my experience, I didn't think the S download speed was any slower than the original X1. In fact, it seemed a bit faster and more efficient after they did one of the updates. But overall, still felt slower than my PS4/Pro.

Like, my ISP speed is 12 mbps. but sometimes on the X1/S, those download speeds would slow to 1 or 2 or sometimes even less. but it did that with the reg X1, not just the S.

that's another area I really hope they address with the X. with all that extra power, the download/install speeds should be faster and more efficient on the X, aside from the speed of your ISP of course.

I hope they have just focussed totally on hardware (as they obviously haven't focused on exclusive games of any importance!) these last couple of years and this thing fixes every issue with the last 2 consoles. It's possible given that it is a mid gen console coming from behind. And if their future is to be iterative maybe this will be a good platform from which to build on for the X2 etc. Hopefully this is the all important foundation.

haha. no, I can't let you outX me. it took me lots of name changes ( courtesy of the great Hunter Rider ) and multiple accounts ( finally consolidated ) to settles on X Knight.

and yeah, I actually did P90X3 last year around this time. Lost about 5 or 6 pounds. But then after all the Holiday yummy treats, I gained it all back and then some, weighing the heaviest I've ever been at the start of this year. :csad:

a few months ago, I completed the easier P90 program and managed to survive the 90 days......lol. Lost around 12 lbs, though. :woot:

but I'm starting to put the pounds back on, so it's time for X3 again!!

and that's good to hear about the Surface Pro. I was actually looking at that for my mom, cuz she was interested in using the stylus to draw on the screen. However, upon researching it, it seems there's no slot to store the stylus? Is that true?

That's what I like about my Samsung Note phone. there's a slot on the bottom to conveniently store the stylus and I use that stylus all the time. so it comes in handy.

Ah so it works. Just got to control yourself afterwards!

The stylus is magnetised and sticks to the left side of the tablet.

yes. I agree. and I hope that's the case, too.

both the X and Spencer now being elevated to a leadership position at MS.

hope both mark important "turning points" and momentum "shifts" for the Xbox brand.

it seems like winning this gen outright is a lost cause. but they can lay the foundation for the future. which is just as important.

but they can't afford to make any more mistakes.

they have to nail the hardware with the X. no more noisy fans, wonky wifi, or other problems.

and then they have to turn their focus back on the games. Revisit games like Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break. Bring back Fable. And get some AAA exclusives that can rival Days Gone, Death Stranding, Gods of War, etc. They certainly have no more excuses hardware wise with the X.

oh, I didn't know that about the Surface stylus. thanks for that. I'll have to give Surface another look then.

and yeah, these programs do work. but you have to put in the work yourself. And I've found changing my diet is actually the hardest part.........lol.

there's just so much temptation and readily accessible junk food in our daily lives. :drl:

and it's sooooooooo hard to lose that weight. but so easy to put it back on. :csad:

Yes it's a really good tablet. Sometimes a typing delay or an internet page that needs rebooting but overall very good.

Diet is key I think. I've seen more results from sorting out my weekday diet (can eat out or do what I like on weekends) than anything else I'eve ever done.

Incorporating all my home time leisure with the cross trainer and otherwise walking around when I'm reading books or comics also means I can burn a ****load of calories while chilling out.

Yeah no chance of winning but consolidating on recent improvements would be a good tactic.

This is the time to fully sort out the hardware and set the template for the future. And once things are looking ok on that front put a LOT of resources into games. Hopefully Phil's promotion can help on this front as he knows how important the games are gonna be.

yep. even small changes to diet and lifestyle can make big differences.

for me, it was calculating a daily calorie target and monitoring calories per meal. doing that makes you more aware of what you're stuffing into your face....lol. When you look at a typical fast food meal ( burger, fries, drink, dessert ) and realize that can be > 1000 calories ( all or most of your daily calorie target ), you start making different choices.....hah.

One reason why I've been soda free for almost 2 years now.

and I'll keep an eye on the Surface Pro line. maybe wait for a really good sale/deal or wait to see what they do with the next model.

especially if I do get an X - I'd like to stay in the MS "fold" so to speak.

yep. E3 2018 is going to be key to Xbox.

also, the fact that there seems to be a bit more Japanese Dev games coming to Xbox, including Code Vein and more obscure titles like Sword Art Online, is a good sign, I think.

personally, I'm really hoping that BlazBlue Cross Tag game gets released on Xbox in the West at least.

indeed, waiting on official platform announcements for games like that is another factor in my decision to get the X.
