I'm getting the UE on Friday for the XB1. Cannot wait.

Last night's Forza Friday stream was insane. 3 laps of the full Nurburgring in a stock Raptor. my right hand hasn't recovered yet LOL

Played the Demo. Porsche is screaming for a Tune and the Dynamic Weather is going to take a bit of getting used to.

Other than that, I think it looks and plays great on the XB1

I thought the exact same thing. It felt a bit too loose for me. It wasn't gripping correctly.

I loved the new track, though.

In Forza 7, can you customize your driver ( choose driver picture, gender ) or choose from preset names like you could to an extent in Forza Horizon 2?

Yeah... higher level tires and some better brakes IMHO. Power seemed fine.

Pity there's only one type of Truck atm. wonder if we'll be seeing any in the DLC.

Dubai is a tricky track going up the mountain, but it's a stunning track

I think you just use your GT as your driver name in FM. Guessing we'll get a selection of different tags to go with them seeing as that was the way it went in FM6.

sweet! did you manage to preorder yet?

No, they had some issues putting it through and it was then too late as another department was already closed. Was quite late I guess. Will have to try again on Monday (earlier).

oh, that sucks. :(

hope you can do it Monday then.

article and vid about "Xbox One X Enhanced" games.

I like how they are going to make it easier to search and filter for X Enhanced titles, both in the store and in your My Games and Apps.

now, if they could only "unify" the 360 BC content and let you use your blasted MS $$$ to buy that stuff!! :cmad:
Thanks for this vid! I will only play enhanced titles from now on lol. Anything else will have to wait till the devs get their finger out of their ass and get to work on it. Yes these search and filter options are gonna be super-useful.

but not all old games will get Enhanced, so that rules out playing a lot of old games if you ever want to revisit or play them for the 1st time.

but yeah, going forward, I'd imagine most games will be Enhanced in some way.

regardless, I think the X will "upscale" all content to 4K anyways, just like the S. doesn't it?

At least it won't struggle to play any regular content and should cruise through it with no frame rate drops etc.

Depends what you mean by upscale. It will extend the size of the picture to fit a 4K TV, but the TV should do that anyway. If you're talking about making interpolations to improve the picture (by guessing at what a native 4K picture might have looked like) I don't think it's even trying to do that. Instead I think it will show a 1080p resolution picture with pixels multiplied by 4 to fit a 4K screen (ie no resolution improvement at all) but with improvements to textures, graphical effects or frame rate stability.

well, they say the S upscales everything to 4K. and you can check some box in the Settings to make sure it does upscale all content ( games, dvds and blurays, videos, etc. )

so, I'm assuming the X will do the same. though now that I mention it, I'm kind of curious about it too since they haven't specifically said.

Yeah but there's 2 different ways the term upscaling is used and the first one which just means fitting a lower resolution image to a 4K screen is something that every 4KTV does anyway so it's not a bonus. What most people are interested in are improvements on the native lower res image which are dependant on how good the interpolation algorithms used are, and these might be better in the TV or in the source device. In other words when you play games even on an 8 bit Nintendo console the 4KTV is upscaling that content to fit a 4K screen but it will look very **** as it's not necessarily improving it much, if at all, so you will still see huge pixels. They should really use separate terms for upscaling as fitting something to a 4K screen without improving it materially is not really a feat in a source device.

well, whatever/however the S upscaled things, it looked pretty good.

and for my purposes, I can check if it's upscaling when I hit display on my tv and the Input says it is 4K ( on all content running on the S ).

now, whether that's the S doing the upscaling or the tv or both, I don't know. but for my purposes, that's how I check.

when I 1st got the S last year, I remember it did NOT upscale Blu-Rays. cuz when I checked the Input display, it only listed 1080p for Blu-Rays. After they updated the Blu-Ray app, it said 4K on my Input display.

I had enough Bing points to get the UE of Forza7. Good stuff. I'll be playing next Friday.

I love the Bing program. I think it's been a solid 5-6 years since I had to actually buy an Xbox game with my own money.

nice!!

I love the Bing program, too. I usually save up enough points to get $40-$50 worth of Gamestop gift cards.

Hands-on gameplay of various games on X

Not sure if I like the new updated UI? It takes 3 more steps just to get to your friends list, takes 3 more steps to get to your games that aren't pinned. It just looks like they made it so you're recommended more stuff. It seems more ad heavy, while taking more steps to get to certain things.

Maybe I just have to get used to it, but so far, I prefer the old one. Which kinda sucks, cause I thought the last update was a HUGE improvement from the day one UI.

I can't see it at the moment. Much of a difference?

not much. at least as far as I can tell. :(

The vid says there's a difference. and if you look closely you can spot subtle differences.

but in reality, for me, it's hard to tell.

and that kind of mirror my feelings about the other DF comparison vids.

The differences between X and X1 versions are subtle, not the dramatic differences I was expecting.
