Yeah I'll wait till the tech is cheaper, more convenient and also more popular. It will be a thing when all the big multiplats start specifically integrating it into their games.

Don't you usually create hot female characters to play as? Could just login and then find a mirror.![]()
hah!
speaking of that, in SAO, one of the cruel "tricks" the creator played on the players is that he gave all of them a "magic mirror" device which reset their game avatar appearances to reflect their real life appearances.
there was one humorous scene where a guy character was protecting a cute female character ( or so he thought ) and then said female character turned into an ugly guy.
Haha, pretty nasty, but great thinking! Funny how that changes things. I need to check these out. Have added them to the list![]()
Thanks for those. I've added these series and these links to my list of stuff to get through. Glad to see they'll be on Xbox too.I think you'll like them.
they are among my favorite anime series. Not only do they have interesting stories, characters, and worlds, they also make you think and ponder. They offer commentary on human behavior and also serve as cautionary tales about future tech. especially topical these days as said tech is emerging in our real world.
The 1st half of Season 1 of SAO is my favorite, cuz that deals with the SAO story arc and world. The ending of that 1st half is especially bittersweet and emotional, especially after going on the journey with the characters.
There have been several SAO games ( including a recent SAO/Accel World crossover ) which have been largely exclusive to the PlayStation platforms.
But, the next game that was just announced, Fatal Bullet, is coming to the X1 and PC for the first time.

Also after all these comparison vids and so much exposure to RotTR I'm gonna try and get through those games ahead of the release of Shadow which I am super-excited about now. And hopefully it runs amazingly on X.
YouTube can do 4K on selected videos (very few at the moment) and of course wherever you're watching it has to support 4K and have it turned on, so even a source than is capable of showing 4K will need the actual app to show in 4K too (like you said). This new Tomb Raider series is going to be one of my favourites going forward I think (especially with Mass Effect throwing all those years of hard work away).yeah, I'm glad SAO is finally coming to the X1. Hopefully that's a sign of more JP games coming to Xbox.
I'm really hoping Blazblue Cross Tag comes to the X, too. I think they're supposed to be something about that tomorrow, so hopefully they reveal the platforms.
I'd like to play as many games as possible on the Xbox, given the X's power. And Xbox can always use more fighting games....lol.
yeah, I need to play through the 1st TR reboot. I'm going to do that before playing Rise on the X. Also need to get to Shadow of Mordor.
also, I finally was able to download the 4K Digital Foundry Rise comparison vid, so I'm going to watch that tonight.
I tried watching it directly through the YouTube app ( and site via Edge browser ) on my X1 last night, but it looks like YouTube only goes up to 1080p?
And on the Pro, it only goes up to 720p it seems.
So, hopefully with the X, that gets fixed so that YouTube will support full 4K streaming.
Oh, and here's another DF vid, with more 4K footage of Forza 7.

yeah, it looks like both the YouTube apps and browser versions on both X1 and PS4 need to be updated to support 4K.
with the X, though, there should be no excuse for any app that should support 4K content to not support 4K.
and I really like the reboot TR series, too. Lara is actually a real person now and not some big ****** polygon sex object as she was in the original series.
I'm looking forward to the movie, too, even though I really wanted Daisy Ridley ( Rey in Force Awakens ) to play Lara.
She's one of the best protagonists around in gaming now, male or female. They've really brought her into the modern day well. I hope the supporting characters are up to her level in RotTR and beyond. Uncharted manages it well so no excuses. This franchise has so much potential.
Oh and I would have been fine with Daisy as Lara too.
yeah, and unlike other female protag/characters, she's not overly sexualized, either. which I always appreciate.
t:Every successful game that comes out she's gonna get bigger, and I don't think they'll ever be killing her off so this could be the start of a long term dominance like the polygon Tomb Raider had.t:
I really hope the film is a step up from the previous ones so that the modern day reputation of TR can be better than what it was.
It's a cool name yeah, although I could have lived without a Donald Trump connection!hopefully.
also, I really love the name Lara. It sounds pretty and has a nice meaning ( it can mean cheerful and happy but also protection ).
It's a name I often use for my created characters, who are often inspired by TR Lara.
And I also like to see the name in other uses. Superman's birth mom is also named Lara. As is one of President Trump's daughters in law ( though it bugs me when announcers always mess up her name on tv. It's Lara not Laura......lol ).
If I ever have a daughter, Lara is high on the list of potential names.

I really love adventure games like these in hidden temples and exotic environments. Wish there were more of these rather than the big preference for military and sci-fi shooters (which I also love).

what about a military sci-fi shooter set in a hidden exotic temple??

Those are great too, but they don't have the same adventure vibe when you've got an army backing you or the most advanced weapons. Doesn't feel as down to earth as human characters discovering things like this on Earth and the risks and wonders seem par for the course with sci-fi based settings, rather than crazy. And not to say I don't love the sci-fi ones every bit as much (and more if executed better), just that there aren't that many TR/Uncharted/Indiana Jones style games out there.
How exactly did you watch it on your Pro? On the youtube app?
t:Does that definitely show it in 4K? Ok that's disappointing then if you couldn't see the differences. I'm gonna rewatch it tonight.I used the Force. and space magic. lots and lots of space magic.t:
no, actually, I downloaded the 4K vid from Youtube, saved it to a USB stick, and watched it on the Pro using the Media App.
