Still no confirmation but everyone is running with it like it's the gospel truth. And I think many people are using it to start rumors or fake news just so their sites will get hits and generate talk or controversy.

They actually did react to some of the pass rumors, including the Barbieri Ganke rumor and Miles Morales rumors. Watts actually debunked the first one himself on Twitter. Gunn has said he'll find out the validation of this rumor but hasn't said anything since.

Anyway, I've never seen Zendaya act so I can't comment on her but I don't really care who plays MJ. Shes not a very interesting character anyway.

We see Zendaya's character make fun of Peter and a friend for oogling girls.

At one point, Peter needs to leave a library discussion.

"Where are you going?" Zendaya asks with a serious face. "What are you hiding?" "Just kidding," says Zendaya. "I don't really care."

I read that and I imagine someone like Raven from the Titans. someone with a serious/deadpan delivery and dry, biting, sarcasm. she'll tease you in a biting way, then say I don't care and go back to her books and ignore you again.

if I didn't know Z is supposed to be MJ, again, I would never get the impression that character is supposed to be MJ from that description.

yeah.

and that's been my point.

if you go into this stuff blind, without any prior knowledge of casting or characters or whatever, and you look at the set pics and read that CC footage description, and read about the character, you would think Z's character is some other character like a Liz or a Sally or someone else. but not MJ.

if I feel like there's barely anything intact of the 616 universe.

and right now its not fairing well...

his social circle of characters are basically re-written.. if MJ doesn't appear to be MJ on screen... and if the Bugle really is the school paper and not a big news paper company in NYC.. im probably out.

If all that's left is a pseudo classic spider-man costume and humor.. and an ok pseudo classic take on vulture.. that's really not enough to save the film for me.

and they keep posting the hot, good looking photos of her, too.

and then you see people in the comments or on YouTube reacting to those pictures and they say "She's smoking! What's the big deal?? Of course she can play MJ!"

except.........she looks totally different in the set pics.
