hot rod red and gold - has to be IM colors. :o

She'll have gold-plated teeth. When she opens her mouth to say "Face it tiger, you've just hit the jackpot" Peter will notice that MJ has as well. :o

after getting her makeover from Stark, MJ shows up at Peter's door, accompanied by her 2 Stark associates - Tiger and Jackpot.

MJ knows that having your own entourage is a key part to projecting the party girl façade.

What if Aunt May gives Michelle some beauty advice and tells her how to dress up and do her makeup to win Peter over at the Homecoming dance?

To be fair aren't most comic book movies in there own universe/Earth whatever?

story wise yes.. but the spirit and personalities are mostly all 616. to me it feels like they plucked (for the most part) 616 characters and placed them into the movie universe with familiar yet different stories. If that spirit is gone.. for the sake of "all new all different" im done.

anyone else annoyed by these sites who keep posting that zendaya picture with red hair when we know 100% she doesn't have red hair in the movie lol

yeah.. because people not following the movie think she's perfect.. and think she's going to actually look like that.. when she's not.

see. that's the kind of makeover I don't like.

it's MJ making herself over to attract the guy. to get the guy to notice her or like her. to win the guy over.

to me, that sends the wrong message. instead of winning Peter over with her true self, she has to make herself "more attractive" in order to get the guy.

plus, beauty advice does nothing to change her core personality.

her personality starts out as quiet, awkward, bookish, and dryly sarcastic. suddenly getting a glamorous makeover and dying her hair red will turn her into a fun loving, playful, sassy alpha female?

that's what I have a hard time seeing. people usually don't go from one major extreme to the other.

and that's why I feel the direction they are taking with the character puts her into a bind.

I feel like MJ shouldn't be pinning after peter personally.. it should be a realization and the 2 connect naturally. That's why i loved the moment after gwen's death when she decided to stay with peter.

Well maybe Aunt May teaches Michelle how to be more sassy and sexy and alpha female in addition to the beauty advice.

Then when MJ shows up and says "Face it Tiger, you've just hit the jackpot!", Peter finds this phrase eerily familiar but can't quite place it until he is walking MJ home that night and about to kiss her. Then he suddenly remembers it's something May always says, and realises he's essentially dating his aunt now. :o

that's why I really wanted to see the relationship amongst Peter, MJ, Gwen, and Harry be developed early on, just like the relationship of Harry, Hermoine, and Ron formed the "heart" of the HP films.

I'd have Gwen actually be the "glue" that holds the group together. And her death has ramifications on each character.

It would obviously affect Peter, because she would have been his first true love. And, he blames himself directly for her death.

It would affect Harry, because he would have had feelings for her too. and he grew increasingly jealous of Peter, cuz Gwen was yet another thing that Peter "got" instead of him ( just like Peter gets his dad's praise and approval ). So, when Gwen dies, that's what really sets Harry off into the addiction direction - and he'd blame Peter AND Spidey for Gwen's death. Ironically, he doesn't know that it was his own father who killed the girl he loved.

As for MJ, I would have had MJ be the only "witness" to Peter holding Gwen's body. She sees Peter unmasked and thus learns his secret. She decides she will keep Peter's secret to herself and help him carry his burdens. This would help MJ mature and help her drop the "self centered" façade as she consoles Peter in his grief. Naturally, this would bring Peter and MJ closer together.

I would do Gwen's death at the end of the 3rd film, and that would allow films 4 and 5 to focus on Peter and MJ getting closer together.

awkward. :o

Well at the moment in the movie, Aunt May is sexier than Mary Jane. Something we'd never have thought.

Also, the way you feel about the Mary Jane predicament is how I've been feeling about Aunt 'Mei. :cmad:

Another poor decision IMO.

What do you mean by Aunt "Mei" all the time? Why do you always make her sound more Asian?

Are you trying to do a play on words of Bae, which is clearly spelt differently, or something else?

Marisa Tomei.

come! let us hug and cry together and laugh together and drink abnormally sweet candy cane extract!!

But ancient Aunt May who looked more like Peter's great grandmother was an outdated image, especially with him being 15. Mary Jane wasn't.

Yep...She will known as Aunt Tomei going forward

Maybe to calm Michelle's nerves for the homecoming dance and meeting Peter, Aunt May gets her to smoke some marijuana, and Michelle shows up high as a kite. She can't even remember her own name so just tells Peter to call her Mary Jane.

Zendaya is greet. I've followed her since Season 1 of Shake It Up. The person that keeps bringing up those set photos I'm just going to continue to ignore. Like they are clinging to that because they just don't like the casting.

What I want to know is why would the studio want to follow this asinine social "justice" path that is dooming the publishing side???

http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/07/07/marvel-social-justice-insanity/

“We’re seeing the worst falloff of Marvel and DC sales in the store’s 38-year history,” complained one comic book store owner in an industry forum. “Both companies are losing established readers who no longer feel that the company’s output reflects the sort of comics they enjoy.

“For the first time in store history, yesterday’s Marvel FOCs saw us ordering single digits on more than half of the line items in the Marvel section.”

Marvel’s readership is souring particularly fast. With the exception of some big-name comics whose characters have, thus far, escaped the SJW purge of anything remotely resembling a straight white male, Marvel readers are simply going elsewhere.

Marvel have radically altered their classic characters by giving in to calls for more diversity, leading to a black Spiderman and female Thor. This has effectively turned the company into a multi-billion dollar feminist zine publisher.

Here’s a newsflash for Marvel: race-baiters and gender warriors who complain endlessly about the “lack of diversity” in comic books don’t buy comic books. They’re interested in identity politics, not fun.

When your customers — lifelong comic fans — pick up the latest issue to find a smorgasbord of irrelevant, hectoring social and pop culture commentary, they probably won’t buy the next issue. Not because they’re sexists and racists, but because the stuff you are publishing sucks.

People read comic books to escape the real world, and readers have had enough of being called privileged cis white men, or misogynist MRAs, in the real world, let alone the one place they get to escape it. If you want to put these things in your comic books, go ahead, but readers are just going to stop buying them.

Marvel is stuck between appeasing gobby SJWs, making SJWs mad by appeasing them and then attempting to fix an even messier situation than just giving the blue-haired elephants a much need middle-finger. They’re not too worried now, given the success of superhero movies at the box office.

But while the company is making bank from Hollywood, hoping that audiences remain enthusiastic about increasingly desperate franchise crossovers, there’s trouble on the horizon, not just for the studio’s core intellectual property, but the creative integrity of its work, too. Serves them right.

I stopped reading so many title because of this crap. I don't also now want to have to stop going to the movies. This kind of stuff hurts my soul.

I for one like the casting of Zendaya, she's a hot chick. I'm confident she'll look hot in some capacity in the movie but I'm more interested in how she's written.

Those Breitbart tears are so delicious, they should be illegal. :hmr: They're almost better than lasagna. Almost.
Interesting gif choice there. :sly:

And yeah, I agree about Zendaya. I get why people are upset about the set photos, but I feel that giving her her own character arc could be a good thing. That was a big problem in the first two Raimi movies, she never really went anywhere; she was just Peter's object of desire and that was that, which imho is not exactly the most compelling way to make us care for their relationship. In this day and age we expect deeper stuff. :o

Now, whether the execution of said character arc will actually be good or not, well, that remains to be seen. Personally I'm not a fan of the very played out Cinderella trope so I have my reservations, but I'm willing to give the filmmakers a chance.
