With the way they were originally going with the character in ASM2, probably wouldn't be well received character wise (and maybe acting wise, mostly due to most fans' negative reaction when she was cast in the role).

This thread just infuriates me now. Because of the uneccesary amount of speculation and confusion behind Zendeya's Role in the film.

I think Shailene's cute, not familiar with her work, but would have liked to give her a chance, though introducing her into ASM2 would have really been a bad idea. "Hey let's rush the infamous death of Gwen Stacey and introduce a new budding love interest!" Naaaaaaaaay. Gotta build that Sony, buiiiiiiiild.

Agreed. Only issue is that, I believe, Harry broke her neck himself before getting his butt whooped and I'm glad they kept to the original scene as much as possible.

Heck, I only think they avoided this due to Raimi having done it previously and also the plans for Harry for Sinister Six:

That's Sony's whole problem with the TASM franchise. Every drop of promise and potential was wasted because they wanted to hit EVERY SINGLE STORY AND PLOT POINT that needed to be done in order to have a multi-film franchise with multiple characters headlining solo films without the work.

Didn't know that. Wouldn't have hated it, but I do agree that the fall was beautifully done. Best executed scene in the whole film.

To be fair, MJ was present when Gwen kicked the bucket, and she played an integral role in Peter's life during the fallout of her death.

But she had been an established character for a decade in that storyline. It would have been in bad taste to have her first appearance after Gwen's death and having Peter be like "OK sounds good" or even worse if there was romantic tension between them while Gwen was still alive--that wouldn't have jived at all with the "You're my path" story.

We all are, man. We're so confused as to what's going on, and it's obvious we're not gonna get any answers soon, so the best we can do is wait and see.

What if they reveal Zendaya's true role in the trailer? At this point they need to make a full announcement of cast, otherwise that leaked sheet with Zendayas just listed as Michelle and everyone else listed as who they are listed seems to be the most probable and "Zendaya as MJ" was simply and always has been Internet ********.
