The Dark Knight Things you noticed the second time

I just noticed that when Bruce tells Rachael "They've come for him" after subduing Dent and locking him in a closet during the party scene when Joker crashes it, he does so in the Batman voice, not his regular voice.

Small thing, but I just noticed on my 7th viewing after seeing it in an Imax theatre that the Joker has scars below his mouth as well as to the sides of it.

I noticed this yesterday. Don't know if it's been posted already or not. At the beginning of the movie, when they are in the truck before the bank heist, the Joker goes to load his glock, when he pulls the slide back it stays back, meaning there are no rounds in the gun, so he has to push the slide release on the side of the weapon. Something small, but I thought it was humorous.

I noticed when Nurse-Joker comes into Dent's room, Dent doesn't realize the Nurse is the Joker, until he takes off his mouth-piece.

Despite the fact that even with the mouthpiece on, the messy white makeup and black circles around his eyes are visible. Dent's a moron, lol.

Or it could be that he's half blind and sluggish due to recently having half of his face burned off. :oldrazz:

I always assumed that he was waking up. It's easy to assume he's awake and looking at the "nurse" the whole time, because his lidless eye is always open, as a consequence of being lidless--isn't his good eye closed, though, until he starts his little fit?

Pulling up another old thread (again!) but was revisiting TDK and just realized the significance of some camera movements at the end re: Dent and Batman.

When Gordon is giving that speech at Dent's funeral, the shot begins obstructed behind someone's head, catches Gordon at the podium while panning to the left, then is obstructed again by someone's head.

When Batman is running from the cops, the shot begins with police officers running away from the camera, pans to the right momentarily obstructed by a cargo container, then ends unobstructed to catch Batman disappearing off camera being chased. So it's more of that Dent/Batman reflection stuff...

Er, don't mind me, I'm a fledgling film geek. :o And it's late and I need to go to sleep...

I noticed that Bruce brought two dates to the hotel in BB, but three dates to his fundraiser in TDK. Will he attend a party with four dates in BB3? :hehe:

I love bringing up these old threads, even if for a brief moment.

Dont know if there is any significance there, Anita, but an interesting observation nonetheless.

And yes, I do think Bruce will be arriving somewhere with 4 dates in BB3...it seems only logical..

this probably has been noted before, but I wonder if the citizens of Gotham are exorbitantly taxed for the frequent reconstruction of the city that Batman (and his foes) destroy. :hyper:

Well wasn't Wayne enterprises funding the rebuild of the railway destroyed in begins? So I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce pays for his and others damages caused on account of Batman....

In 63 pages of thread it's likely to have cropped up already so sorry if thats the case. But it dawned on me a while back that at the party fundraiser The Joker and Bruce both throw the champers out of their glasses. Joker comically and Bruce covertly over the balcony.

how bout Bruce Wayne fiddling with the remote control when he's watching the joker interrogate the fake batman...

i just thought it was funny, Bale is all serious but fiddling with the remote while he's watching that..

It took me a TON of viewings to realize this, but:

When the guy pulls the gun on Harvey in the courtroom, I always wondered why he didn't just blow Harvey away during that massive amount of time he had the gun drawn. Then, I realized the gun's click wasn't him cocking a hammer or anything, it was the gun misfiring, hence the, "I suggest you buy American," comment.

I'm dumb, I know. :p

In the Joker final shot when he is hanging upside down, it seems like briefly at the very end his laughter is turning to tears, as if for the first time he was almost crying for being defeated by Batman.

I always thought that was accidentally. As if he grabbed the glass so hard that the momentum did all the work.

I agree, i always felt the laughter was turning into crying.

I realised that when Gordon goes crazy as the building explodes, it's because he thinks Dent's just died, he didn't know about the switcheroo just yet.

And when he found out it was Rachel, he lets out a sigh of relief & chuckles. They should have left that part in. : )

Yea I've always thought that. It turns from a maniacal laughter to a whimper. That's why Joker should return! He shouldn't go out with a whimper! He should go out with a bang!!!

haha yeah! or just muttered "If only it was Katie Holmes..."

Same here. I was just watching the movie again. If you look at Joker's face, he starts laughing at the beginning, but ends up clearly wailing after Batman leaves.

Also, when Gordon, Dent and Batman have their convo about Lau leaving to Hong Kong on the rooftop of MCU, Gordon has his pistol armed and ready as he enters the scene.

Lastly, this is kinda dumb of me to just now notice this, but the scene where Fox tells Batman that there's doctors ready to ambush the Swat team, you can see one of them through the bat-sonar cocking his gun.

I just realized, the danger here wasn't that the guy was going to try and shoot a SWAT team member, but the danger was that the guy with the gun was hiding behind the hostages with guns tied to their hands. So when that one guy fired, the SWAT team would be thinking that the hostages were shooting them, and return fire.

I didn't notice the first time that the cop who Joker smokes with the shotty was wearing glasses. I watched Batman 89 the other day and it's funny when he says "you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya?". :hehe:
