This is the End

According to IMDB, Paul Rudd is also in this. I don't think I saw him in the Redband trailer though.

Can anyone think of another major released film where all the leads are essentially playing themselves?

I think it's pretty unique/ballsy that this film is essentially the actors parodying themselves.

If it's successful expect an influx of movies spoofing real life with actors playing themselves. I don't mind the concept to be honest, it'd be funny to see actors playing fictionalized versions of themselves. What I like about it is especially is Emma Watson showing up, it's so absurdly random for her to be in a film with these guys. :hehe:

BTW, "Hermione just stole all of our ****" has to be an early contender for quote of the year.

The whole celebrity cameo parody is not new it's been seen in a lot of things before. Like the whole emma watson type cameo that's been done before in other movies. With relatively wholesome celebs sending up themselves (think NPH in harold and Kumar).

Yeah for the main leads that's relatively new, although come to think of it Being John Malkovich kind of did something similar but that was just 1 actor doing it.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare did it seriously.

Yeah i just looked that up but for new nightmares they weren't actors really known beyond their actual connection to the nightmare franchise.

I'm aware it's not new, but it's usually limited to cameos at best, everyone else is still playing characters.

Yeah, but the difference here is that people like Emma Watson and Rihanna are already huge stars. When NPH did Harold and Kumar, he was still just known as Doogie Howser, which hadn't been on the air for over 10 years. He wasn't even on How I Met Your Mother yet.

Haha that's such a weird looking poster. The top half looks badly shopped and most of them have "mildly concerned" expressions.

Can't wait to see this though.

You really get the sense the original plan was to get this thing in theaters before december, with the end of the world motif and all. I think most people are kind of burnt out on all the end of the world Apocalypse talk by this point...damn misleading mayans that's probably the last time i listen to them.

Just watched the Trailer. This is going to be awesome. :funny:

Was thinking of doing something different this summer and seeing some comedies instead of the big summer blockbusters. There is Hangover III but I think I'm going to save my laughs for this one.

Laughing, not chuckling, at a trailer is usually a good sign.

I am so pissed. I could have got into a early screening of this last Wednesday May 22nd. I had to pass on it though due to work. But the friends that did see this said it was hilarious. They are gonna go see it again when it comes out.

Has anyone seen the newest tv spot? Some funny stuff in that one. :woot:

**** yo house, Franco.

Bloody-Disgusting has awarded this film their Editor's Choice award, declaring it a brilliant horror comedy.
And yeah, they are claiming the film is a lot more horror based than the trailers have let on, a lot of demons and gore.

High praise coming from them.

Just saw that commercial Jonah getting possessed, so i suspect it is gonna be more dark comedy than anything.
