If Loki dies, he will come back. That is his thing.

I think he came back as a child and a Hot Lady. I maybe wrong though.

The first time he was using Sif's body. The second time he simply comes back as a younger, much more innocent version of himself. Funny enough, both times Thor brought him back.

Third film, Thor misses his brother and brings him back to the annoyance of everyone else. :funny:

I've never seen it mentioned again but it's hard to tell for me in that trailer where Jane is floating if it looks like Loki's eyes are bleeding like someone speculated or if he has a Dark Elf mask on. I actually thought that what if Loki died and Thanos had something to do with his resurrection again in the future. I know it's redundant, but seriously, there is going to be some of that in comic book movies. It just depends how it would be dished out and not be an eye roller and a "oh here we go again" moment.

I kinda thought about something similar just moments ago! Loki could die and due to Thanos not being done with his puppet resurrect him for some other deed later on.

Indeed, I see her going up against Maelkith in the trailer as a good sign as having something to do but also as a bad sign....

That's not Malekith that Frigga is fighting. It's Algrim.
And yeah, safest money is on Frigga being Most Likely To Die in this movie. Unconfirmed rumors tend to point in this direction already anyway, so....not looking good for Mama Asgard.

I'd also bet on Jane getting fridged, which would likely satisfy Natalie Portman and the majority of fandom.

Loki is possible, if he's on a redemptive martyr arc, but I don't see that happening --- just something that the fangirls want to see. Marvel can still get a lot of mileage out of Hiddleston, and I'm sure they realize that.

Pretty sure it's Malekith.

That's way too small to be Algrim. It's definitely Malekith.

I think Frigga is toast, for sure, but if I had to add another, I'd probably say Sif :(. That pains me to say, but JA has gone on record as saying she sacrifices something for Thor in this movie. Not a confirmation at all, but it's possible that she lies down to save him and Jane from Malekith at some point.

You really think Portman would let Jane be killed for no reason but to further Thor's story? Why are you attributing imaginary motives to her? Has she told you she wants to move on?

Also, majority of fandom? The majority of fandom wants to lose one of its biggest box office stars? No, the majority of fandom want Jane explored more as a character.

just Asking ...Do sif ever fall for loki does she has hots for him ever in comics back then ?

I agree--she is a big name and likely draws folks in. I wasn't fond of Jane's character in the first film, but I think they've really fleshed her out for The Dark World, and I am ready to be won over by Portman's performance and the development of Jane's relationship with Thor. I think it would be a shame, no matter what, to kill off; I think it's a cliche to red shirt the hero's love interest.

Frigga is likely going to go, and now with the confirmation from the footage at Disney that Loki does indeed "betray" Thor and cut off his hand (discussed in the Disney thread), I think Loki may get killed off--or at least seem to be killed--much as I hate to say it. But if he does die, he'll be back, just like the Terminator.

Obviously, she is as Important as other characters to the Movie
they should justify her Death if they kill her off .

Nope. She always despised him in different measures. At best she is suspicious of him, at worst the only thing that stand between her and his demise is wrath of Thor. She even wanted to end him while he was a child...

Another interesting tidbit in that Empire article is this from Alan Taylor:

"...I picked Greenwich. And I'll tell you why: I knew our final act was going to be total chaotic battle and so I loved the idea of picking a really formal setting to stage chaos. There are no and angles in that place. We got to go into the Painted Hall and explode it...”

I knew that the UK scenes were sort of going to bookend the story, but I'd just assumed that it would be a post-battle, conclusion scene. Looks like the final battle is there, and it's a doozy!

As for the current discussion, I can't even begin to assume who the second death might be. Darcy? :hehe:

 This

I'm so happy to see someone stick up for Jane, there have been times in the past that I felt like the only one who liked her :waa: <-happy tears

Ooooooh nooooooo!!!! Not Darcy!!!! If we have to lose one of Jane's Geek Squad, I vote the new guy. Oh, no, do you think it might be Eric?

You know, I hadn't thought about Eric, but he's just as likely as anyone else. He's sort of in a weird state after having been brainwashed by Loki, and I don't think there are any Selvig fans out there who will get upset. I know that loses something if character deaths are supposed to mean something to the audience, though.

That would affect me because he's been through so much, I would be genuinely sad. I think the reason no one has thought of it is because no one wants it to happen, like at all. When I first thought of if it I was like 'no, take Mama Frigga first!' which is weird because I love Mama Frigga. I want to be her when I grow up

Well, from what I've read on here it seems like we're all assuming Mama Frigga is one of the deaths. I really feel like the other death could be anyone.

Maybe it IS Loki, but he doesn't die. Thor could behead him and carry his head around for fun! Road trip!

Oh God, can you imagine Loki just talking none stop. That would a nightmare...

I say Loki dies in T:TDW and comes back as Eva Green - cleavage and all - in Thor 3. Why should the fangirls have all the fun? ;)

Hear, Hear! :applaud

Although, I may choose a different actress. If only Monica Bellucci were in her prime... <sigh>

Frigga is most likely to die. That could be Loki's motivation to put aside his differences with Thor and team up. I also think it is possible that Odin or one of the Warriors Three may die. In regards to Sif, I'm thinking that she "sacrifices" her chances at a romance with Thor so that he can be happy.
