I wonder if Marvel choose to make the Kronan's grey to avoid them looking too similar to the Thing from Fantastic Four. You know trying avoid any complications with a law suit, even though it would not have any merit.

Quite possible.

One could just take it one step further and throw Hulk into the Sun. Even though he can survive he has no means of escaping.

Of course that's not how superhero fights tend to go. Just like how Thor only brawls with Hulk even though that's just using half of his total power (even less if you consider the God Blast). Cool goes before logic.

These characters live in a fictional world, so there is always a means of escaping. Heck, this is a world where characters even come back from being dead. Seriously the only limit in comics is one's imagination. If you are wanting everything in the comics to be logical then Thor should not fly or be able to call upon lightning. We accept it because it is enjoyable to imagine such things as being possible.

Logic isn't the same thing as realism. The rules are set in the fiction and being logical is then sticking to the internal logic that those rules have created.

It's part of why I somewhat dislike super speed, since unless all parties involved are in the same area of speed the stories so often have to bend logic to give the super fast character a challenge. Someone that can move closer to the speed of light would never be punched or shot because he'd logically feel the pressure on his skin and directly move away. I'm of course able to read such stories anyway, but it is a problematic super power as the issues often don't get explained well, they just ignore them when necessary (to a larger extent than other super powers).

I definitely agree on super speed. For any story to work the speed gets toned down (unless of course the other characters also have same-ballpark speed).

I mean I agree with you that they try to set up logic within the universe and often try to explain things away to fulfill our need to understand, but other times they just simply don't and just hope the audience will accept it. Like in the scenario you provided with a super fast character. I mean getting back to the Hulk on the Sun scenario. You could have a writer and artist just have the Hulk show back up in the comics one day with very little of an explanation. They could do it as something shrouded in mystery and someone from the Avengers says they saw the Hulk and he is back and no one wants to believe that person. Then later when it is accepted he is back if asked Hulk could just say something as simple as I don't want to talk about it. The proof of him being back is on the page, seeing how he got back is not required to prove he got back from the Sun. Now I am not saying they couldn't come up with a good explanation, like maybe the Sun has a solar flare and it launches the Hulk back towards our planet. I am just saying in comics everything is possible, and while I agree they often try to implement Logic it is up to the Artist and Writer to decide when to implement it and when to break it.

Any idea where his eyes are?
His eyes seem to be on his head and are those 6 black/grey spots. Which i also think is a cool and inventive thing of shaking things up in terms of characters and how they look.

Taika Waititi made an outstanding job in bringing so much freshness and quirkiness to this movie. He has poured so much of his own imagination and attention to detail into building the characters looks, the visuals, Sakaar... and it really shows. All of this while pulling as much from the comics as possible. Add to this his biggest strengths which are humor, the balance of humor and drama and creating compelling characters that shine bright in his movies.

And from what i saw and the character interactions you could already see that he delivered again. Those Thor/Hulk/Banner interactions... Then that comic-con footage really showed how much Taika can extract out of small scenes, with his humor, dialog and style of directing. His characters shine bright like Thor, Hela, The Grandmaster, even Topaz with just a few lines, Korg...

I really believe this movie is going to have a massive impact in the MCU and most likely become one of it's better movies. In Taika we trust.:yay:

Yeah, I am always really impressed with the director's Marvel selects. They often seem to go with more indie director's, that make these excellent smaller films, but they are nontraditional and without a lot of experience making large blockbuster Action or Sci-Fi movies. So, it always amazes me when these director's do such a great job, and go way beyond my expectations.

In Marvel and Taika we trust.

The Kronan in T:TDW was also much bigger than Korg is in Ragnarok.

If only the Silver Savage was in this film. I'm hoping for Beta Ray Bill but like the animated movie; I was kinda sad it wasn't my boy Silver Surfer.

Tell me about it. It kills me that the Silver Surfer is not in the MCU. I pray some day it happens for him and all the Fantastic Four related characters.

Pleaseeeeeeeeee let Hogan have a bad ass fight scene.

He's my favorite of the Warrior's Three.

common, we are almost a month ahead...we need the final trailer !!

If it doesn't come out tomorrow or Friday we're not getting it.

Since the new trailer for JL is coming up, now, its 100% sure that a new trailer for Thor or AV IW is coming up

Chinese Trailer. NEW FOOTAGE! :hmr:
Epic! The more you see from it the more it blows one's mind.

Thank you for posting this! I saw it on Reddit first but that was an inferior copy that looked a mess. This is a far better version and it looks fantastic. I cannot wait to see Hela lay waste to Asgard. That promises to be an epic battle.

I hope that wasn't the "new" trailer we were supposed to get, if so I'm severely underwhelmed.
