Do you guys think Taika will return for another Marvel movie? Cause I read a tweet from Jeff Sneider, dated Sept 19th, saying Taika is "getting tired of the machine". Not sure how valid that claim is, but if it's true, I'm worried about how much freedom Taika was given with the movie.

Hopefully he will be back.

Did anyone see the article today from the Thor premier?
Ruffalo mistakenly live streamed the whole thing. "oops"
I didn't think it was the whole movie, I thought it was just about 15 min. worth before he realized (or someone told him) and he turned the streaming off.

From what I've heard it's clearly a Taika Waititi movie from start to finish. It could be that's his being tired is a temporary situation and he will be back on board at Marvel Studios for the (oh please, oh please) Fantastic Four reboot.

It was "just" 10 to 15 minutes of audio in the beginning.

They're both clearly heavy on comedy, but James Gunn and Taika Waititi have VERY different brands of comedy, so I think some of it is going to depend on whether one of those types works better for you.

I've personally always found James Gunn's brand of comedy to be a bit juvenile for my tastes, though he certainly had some great clever moments in Slither. Still, Taika's comedy is MUCH more my style, so if this is just as heavy as GotG with the comedy, but Taika's style of comedy? I'm almost guaranteed to love it far more.
Agreed. And there is definitely a diference between Taika and Gunn's humor. A lot of people don't know that.

The audio Ruffalo leaked really doesn't spoil much. It was hard to tell what was happening without the visuals to go along with it. Also, Ruffalo's laughter and crowd noises interrupted and drowned out the audio at parts. I suppose that people willing to listen closely and repeat parts of it could get more out of the audio than I did.

Now that would be interesting. If he knocks it out of the park with Thor then he might be a perfect fit. I love how Taika has embraced Kirby in this film and Thor and FF are two of Kirby's greatest creations.

By the same note there are a few Marvel directors that I feel could do FF justice. Uber Marvel geek Peyton Reed and Scott Derrickson have both expressed interest in bringing the FF to film. Actually and ironically, Reed was going to direct the first FF film before he walked away after too much corporate interference. His vision for it always sounded like the kind of film I would have liked to have seen instead of the mess we ended up with. But I digress ... this is not an FF thread.

Guys, just a warning. There's a Deadline article out there about the projected BO for Ragnarok's opening weekend, for goodness sake don't read it if you don't want to be spoiled. There's a pretty major spoiler contained in the synopsis at the end. HD has posted a redacted version in the box office thread.

Wow, fantastic journalism there Deadline... :whatever:

Yeh they definitely wrote something they shouldn't and i actually missed it but i have corrected it now. It's a pretty big thing to be written like that, someone should get in touch with them or leave a comment or so because that's a massive spoiler.

I'm now going back into hibernation until this film is released. See y'all!

New TV spot. This stuff is gold xD

Thor throwing that guy hundreds of feet with one arm and slamming Mjolnir into the ground was awesome.

It was MUCH better than that weak ass ground strike from TDW.

Why so? The "strongest avenger" joke didn't work for you? I thought it was great and actually burst out laughing xD. Thought it had the right amount of beats to work as a joke.

Yeah jokes insinuating Hulk is stronger than Thor are becoming old.

Only 12 days to go for me, spoilers are out and about, so I shall return to this section on the 24th to give my thoughts.

Take it easy folks!

That strongest avenger joke even I don't take seriously.

Where was Thor throwing the guy hundreds of feet? I couldnt see it

HAHA! I laughed hard at this. :woot:
I'm so on board with Taika's humor. And the more they show of Thor the more he looks like a badass. In terms of feats for Thor for strength, power, fighting ability, soak damage... TR might very well take the cake of any MCU movie for Thor pure bad-assery.

Yeah, but that was also in reference to helm a Star Wars movie... a machine run by Kathleen Kennedy.

And we know taika waititi is not at all fond of that system.
