Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - - - - Part 13

Hemsworth is still interested in playing Thor right? Because I need a 4th film since the ending of the 3rd kept things way to open ended for my liking.
He tottaly is. Him and Taika have talked about a possible Thor 4. It will all depend on Marvel's plans for the universe and the response from the general audience to this movie as well.

I have to say, Marvel have really stepped up their game with the absolutely stunning and realistic visual effects and fight choreography in Ragnarok:

Fine by me if they keep the quality up like this. :)

Nice! I like their use of practical effects. Lol

Surfer

Finally got around to seeing it again and I actually liked it even more the second time!

The second viewing really helps to have everything sink in and also enjoy every moment of the movie.

I'm honestly considering signing up for MoviePass just so I can see this a bunch of times over the next couple months, lol.

This movie is the definition of awesome. I like the 1st 2 films very much but Good lord! Can't wait to see it again with mom, who just adores Thor.

I know he doesn’t have issues getting other jobs but most of those turn out to be bad so I’d think it in his best interest to stay where the money and material is good same with Evans honestly.

I loved when Thor tried to pull a Nat with Hulk. Can’t wait to see this again.

Yeah sadly his other movies just don't grab me. I watched the Moby Dick one and wasn't into it. I think he was praised for Rush.

His 12 soldier preview was mostly ignored by my audience. He can get a great run in as Thor, he is already forever loved. It would be a Hugh Jackman like feat too so why not.

Yeah, his lead roles outside of Thor have not been good. Best one was Rush, imo. He'd be wise to stick with Thor as long as he can because he's great for the role and it's great for him.

Evans has a had a slightly more interesting career outside of this but not amazing, either. Still, I could see him moving on first.

Sooooooo.....I definitely liked the movie. It's hovering around my top 5. I think I like the gentle giant Thor of the early comics quite a bit more, but it's not like he isn't there. This movie didn't allow him to be in that mode so that's cool. I think the humor was a bit overdone and, being a Tolkien fan, I like the archaic speech.

That being said, I think Taika did a nice job and doubt that he'll tone down the humor. IMO he either didn't get the character I have in my mind or just reinvented him. Neither is a serious crime.

I'll definitely watch it again.

I wasn't impressed by the JL trailer, but it's another 1st day view for me (cause I have another half day off in 2 weeks).

Really enjoyed what they did with Thor. It’ll be interesting how the Russos handle him. I don’t expect the same comic energy but hopefully it won’t be too far a step back. Same with Hulk. Hope he talks more in IW.

I think Evans is happy where he is in life. He seems liek a guy that would leave the role and be happy in life. He did big movies in his past and beside Cap he can't be found in the blockbuster type of movies.

I really loved how Taika infused Thor with more charisma, humor... and how he made the Thor and Hulk/Banner relationship flourish and really capture something special there. Hopefully the Russos can keep the trend but it won't be easy, having that energy Taika normally infuses in his work.

I think the Russos will, Civil War had humor in a serious situation. Thanos provides even more of a threatening situation but humor will be around when the group is not fighting him.

Hearing that Taika has been on the set of IW is a good sign (same as Gunn with the Guardians). Making sure their babies are taken care of, though i have no reason at all to doubt the Russos since they're a giant 2 for 2 themselves.

Let's not forget the Russos came from the world of Arrested Development and Community. They can easily handle that kind of situational humor when it's appropriate.

Right, so true.

They'll handle the humor and heart. I know some fanboys ***** about these flicks being too funny but you need levity in times of crisis.

Do it! It's been so worth it for me. I signed my wife up as well. I've seen 4 movies with it so far including Thor on opening night. Definitely gonna use it to see Thor a few more times.

Any negatives you've experienced so far? It's one of those things that honestly sounds too good to be true, so I'm hesitant, lol. Feels like there should be a catch.
