Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - - - - Part 13

They'll handle the humor and heart. I know some fanboys ***** about these flicks being too funny but you need levity in times of crisis.

Life is hard enough. Dark things are all around us. Hell my own short films are usually as dark as they can be. The MCU really does give me the best jolt out of my down periods. I'll never get these complaints. There's room for all kinds of tone. It's all on the execution.

I thought this might be silly because of what I saw in the trailer, but the whole package was paced wonderfully with both humor and action that it didn't come off as stupid. :)

Well said. This whole 'dark and gritty = for adults and joyous and fun = for children' thing needs to go away already. The tone of a film isn't what makes it good, it's all in the execution.

Anyway, viewing #5 booked for Sunday, I can't wait. :woot:

Any ideas what this is? I don't recall seeing anything like it in the movie.

The opening scene might be my favorite sequence in any superhero movie.

It was a very colorful movie.

Any negatives you've experienced so far? It's one of those things that honestly sounds too good to be true, so I'm hesitant, lol. Feels like there should be a catch.

I thought the same thing as well, but I haven't experienced any negatives so far. It's been very easy and smooth to use. There's not even a " one movie every 24 hours" rule anymore. Just one movie per calendar day, so you could see Thor at night and then again in the morning.

They used to have that "take a snapshot of your ticket stub" rule for whatever reason, but they axed that this year. You can't always see the same movie twice but just buy a ticket for a different one and use the card for the same one basically.

I'm honestly considering signing up for MoviePass just so I can see this a bunch of times over the next couple months, lol.

I love my MoviePass. Especially since my theater has e-tickets. Only negative is obviously you can't use it on IMAX tickets

Thanks for the feedback. The IMAX thing is why I didn't consider it sooner but hey, for as many repeat viewing as I'll probably want do for this and Star Wars (and a few smaller films coming up that I don't care about the format for)? Sounds like it may be worth a shot.

Is it true that you can only use Moviepass for the same movie once in a month? I like to rewatch good movies and that rule would be a dealbreaker for me.

[blackout]Thor's eye[/blackout]...was that done in the comics before?

Stuff I should have put in a spoiler tag...

Dude... Edit that **** and put it in a spoiler tag. The film just literally dropped in N. America. Not everyone has seen it yet. There's a spoiler thread for a reason.

No. Pretty sure you can see the same movie everyday now

Hahaha anyone noticed how they added cgi clothing between Valkyrie's legs and a cgi cape for Hela? i guess MPAA and disney thought that they look to ''sexy'' for little children .

^ things that make you go "why?" ...

Today's my day! Up before six due to happiness <insert Snoopy Dance here>

I just have to say that I am appreciating how Thor-centric the advertising and publicity have been. This is being put out as a Thor movie, not a 'and Thor is in it too!' movie. Very nice and Chris Hemsworth should be front and center.

Nope. I have Moviepass as well and just watched Thor on Thursday and Friday. I got it three weeks ago and have seen 8 movies with zero problems so far.

Thanks! I'm gonna sign up whenever their stupid ap/website will let me complete my order.

Right now I'm sitting in the theater lobby waiting for my bro to get here. We see all cbms together with rare exceptions. Out tradition actually started with Star Wars which came out the weekend after our birthdays. That was better than going to the carnival. The family that geeks together stays together. :yay:
