That Valkyries vs Hela fight is just absolutely stunning
I second that. It's a work of art in itself.

Did they change the facial structure of Hulk, or is it just the haircut and shave that makes him look so different?

I appreciate that there's still three months left of post-production, but the Hulk's CGI has gotten progressively worse from film to film. He was absolutely stunning in The Avengers. Here? Not so much.

I agree. Hopefully things change around for Infinity War, but something tells me probably not considering that film has many many CG components to juggle.

Really?

Edit: People are criticizing the CG work here? I don't know what percentage of this is CGI vs practical effects, but it all looks spot on to me. Hulk is obviously CGI, and he looks fine to me.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggghhh

Thank you! That's an awesome track!

Absolute phenomenal trailer, but shouldn't Thor be the one fighting against Surtur or Fenris and get the last money shot in a trailer? It is a Thor movie after all.
After what Marvel has done with Thor in the comics, I hope he won't be overshadowed again from someone else. Just once in the Marvel universe I want my Thor to kick some major ass. Maybe I'm nitpicking here and the trailer is just meant to make me think Hulks is fighting the Thor villains alone, but I really hope Thor is bringing them down.

I think Hulk looks fine, he looks very toned. He has been in this form for two years so he has a strong physic. Now that he is able to talk it becomes all about the personality. If the physicality and personality shine, whatever CGI issue won't matter.

Thor will fight them for sure. Hulk is just the eager type and wants to prove he is the strongest. He just wants to smash but Thor has grown he thinks more and doesn't just want to fight like Thor 1. I don't think Hulk will take multiple L's and neither will Thor. I expect Thor to defeat Hela (hopefully not kill), Odin or Thor will defeat Surtur but Hulk attacks first. Hulk and Thor can tag team Fenris.

An absolutely awesome trailer. Some of the highlights for me were:
- a powered-up lightning-charged Thor that just looked totally awesome,
- the exchange at the end between Thor and Hulk,
- Hulk charging at Surtur.

Is it just or me or is there something deliciously seductive about the way Cate Blanchett’s Hela says “Ohh I’ve missed this? :woot:

Not just you :D

Gawd I feel so naked without an Avi while everyone else has em. :( still gota long way to go

Hopefully the movie will explain the whereabouts of Sif and the Warriors Three. I don't care for Jane, Dr. Selvig, Darcy or the other guy, just Sif and the Warriors Three.

A brief mention will do, I say they are with Heimdall. Those characters have not interacted much so it would be nice to see them travel.

Based on the trailers, it looks like Heimdall is leading the resistance against Hela so yeah, they may be with him.

If Thor kills Hela I will be angry at him. Doesn't he know IW is around the corner? Would be very inconsiderate. Beat her at chess or something for the sake of this film and then book her an uber to Thanos'.

Agree, I think Fenris, Surtur, Skurge, and possibly Odin die. That is enough for me we need Hela to stick around for another movie. From the trailer she seems like she can have Thanos doing everything in his power to please her. She is like some sort of dominatrix.

Yeah narrative wise I think it's just overall more economic and fulfilling to have Cate to be the MCU's version of Death and have her return for Infinity War. Having two embodiments of death might work in the comics but sometimes its better to streamline these sorts of things for movies.

Skurge and Odin of course die, but maybe Surtur will be presented as a Dormammu type, as in, he has to be trapped, imprisoned or just otherwise delayed somehow? I can't imagine they kill him off unless narratively he's supposed to be weakened, sort of like MCU's Odin seems to be past his prime.

Exactly. You have a lot more time to tell stories and build background in comics. Streamlining works on film as long as all the main Marvel characters get their due.

Hela wont die in Ragnarok.

He had moments in AoU where he looked great but in that movie he certainly was a grab-bag of CGI quality. I think in an interview they mentioned they changed how they animate and light him so he fits better with the team, and the way they talked about it essentially amounted to saying they weren't going to make sure each shot of him was pristine.

I guess that's the sad reality of the business. You can have quality or quantity. In Avengers 1 there was only a few shots of Hulk but each one was clearly fine tuned to look great. AoU had more Hulk screen time but at sacrificed quality. Ragnarok seems to be following suit and Infinity will especially given that they also have to make sure Thanos looks great.

Hela wont die in Ragnarok.

She is the Goddess of Death after all. I bet she's even immune to it. Like sure you could land a fatal blow, maybe even dematerialize her, but maybe her "essence" (or soul, or whatever you'd like to conceptualize it as) will remain and allow her to come back at some later time? Like she's got built in Horocruxs or infinite "lives". You can't kill Death itself.
