Haha, Loki's on form.

Again, that collision where we initially seeing Thor land the lightning uppercut (IF they do keep that) could be what warrents that. Loki celebrates there with in uppercut

So Ragnarok won the internet yet again last week. Honestly, the buzz for this movie on social media is flippin' huge, way more than I ever expected it to be. :woot:

'Thor: Ragnorak' Leads Movie Social Media Chatter With Help From Mayweather-McGregor Fight

Disney-Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" easily topped social media buzz last week with 57,000 new conversations, according to media-measurement firm ComScore and its PreAct service.

The studio released a new poster on Aug. 24, and a new clips of Thor's fight with Hulk on Aug. 26 — released on the same day as Saturday's fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. The tentpole has now generated more than 850,000 new conversations and is scheduled for release on Nov. 3.

"Thor: Ragnorak" led social media buzz for three straight weeks from mid-July to early August. "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" helmer Taika Waititi directed the third standalone "Thor" movie, which stars Chris Hemsworth. Co-stars are Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, and Anthony Hopkins.

Linking it with the big fight was a really good marketing idea.

Anyone know is going to be a Comedy Central campaign like with TDW? Those Loki with kids clips were hilarious. I would not mind seeing more of those. Or Thor running a daycare. The contrast-

MCU wouldn't exist without him. Thor Ragnarok is an unabashed love letter to his vision. Happy Birthday to the King. Eternal #JackKirby100

Pretty nice thing in the Marvel France Twitter page. Homage to Jack Kirby with a few characters from Thor Ragnarok, Thor, Hulk, Loki, Hela, Heimdall and their special moves. Special note for the gladiator Thor wielding lightning. Another hint of what's to come. Cool move from Heimdall too.

You know, this clip just reinforces the sense I get, that in raw muscle power, Thor is actually *stronger* than the Hulk. The difference is, Thor is maybe 250 pounds, while the Hulk is more like a thousand pounds. Thor's muscles are better, but Hulk has *more* of them, a lot more. If the Hulk were somehow shrunk down to Thor's own height, the fight would only be a moderately difficult, but very certain, win for Thor.

In comics Hulk's strength comes from drawing straight from the gamma ray field and other cosmic energies, not his muscles.

In the first Ang Lee Hulk movie, it was explained that Hulk absorbs the ambient energy around him.

Gladiator Thor shooting lightning as his special move was awesome, I guess they just might include it after all. Heimdall's special move was cool as well, in the comics his hammer could emit cosmic flames it's a shame he hasn't done that in the film.

Although I would rather see Skurge and project flames (and hopefully ice too). Loki's special move was so lame, I wonder why the MCU doesn't let him be more magical .

Unfortunately it seems MCU Loki's only big super power is illusions (not counting things like him using the Casket for ice powers or a scepter for energy blasts). It seems to be the only school of magic he's learned. :(

Under that limitation, the coolest thing I can think of as a special attack for him is to make his clones semi-tangible, enough to that he can surround an enemy with them and stab with all of his clones.

MCU Doctor Strange puts him to shame, it's such a waste.

That's one of the few complaints I have with the MCU, they try to scientifically explained everything instead of just making it plain and simple that this is what goes on in the Marvel Universe.

Loki should have more powers than deception.

Happy 100th Birthday to The King, Jack Kirby! His art hugely influenced the Ragnarok look & this is my "Galactic Head" which I wear to bed.

Taika Waititi answer on Twitter.

@TaikaWaititi Can I just hate the next Thor movie without actually watching it?

TW: Absolutely! That's the best way to hate things!

Marvel have announced that they're bringing the UK release date forward from October 27th to October 24th. In the immortal words of Drax:

My eyes will get to witness the glory of this film a whole THREE DAYS EARLIER. :jd:
