Thor story arc

I just wish they'd finally give us more finished work It'd be silly to call a Frost Giant a giant only because they're average height is a foot taller than the average Asgardian. Tho it would cover a bit of how so called legends are born from exaggeration as in 13th Warrior and the so called Fire Worm. :D

I can only think of 4 fights.

Against Frost Giants
S.H.I.E.L.D
Destroyer
Loki

Only? I'll take that. Sounds like a great deal of action. A couple of them (all of them?) have the potential to be big time, throw downs.

The Incredible Hulk & Iron Man 1 only had 3 fights by the way. Most origin story films usually only have 3 fight scenes overall, so having 4 guaranteed fights are above the norm.

I meant "better quality" fight scenes, I didn't mean "more" fight scenes

Frost Giants in the movie should range anywhere from 10-12 feet IMHO, no less than that:

Especially considering Asgardians and Alfar are 6-7 feet tall on average...

Can I get in on the source of this "rumor"?

I guess my only was misplaced. I didn't mean it to sound like that wasn't enough, because it's plenty.

I was saying it more as a I can only think of that many from the information we've got. :yay:

I agree, 10 to 12 feet would be alot better than 8 to 9 feet

I feel the same way, I hope they either grow or have certain Frost Giants that are 15 to 20 feet tall.

I would prefer the Frost Giants be about 9-10 feet tall but i'd be fine with the 8ft or so that they look like they are.

It would be cool if Ymir was about a foot taller than the rest.

I'd prefer Frost Giants to be ... giants. Not a make or break deal for me, though.

I'm honestly wondering about something...

Given that we've established that events of Thor take place AFTER the events of Iron Man 2, I wonder if they'll actually have a reason as to why SHIELD simply didn't just call Tony Stark to go down to New Mexico and help them out with the Destroyer BEFORE Thor eventually defeats it.

Well, part of Thor technically happens at the same time as Iron Man 2. Coulson gets reassigned like 2/3rds of the way through IM 2, and we don't really know what the timescale for Thor's movie is like. For all we know, all of Thor could happen while Tony's still putting the finishing touches on his super-cool new element.

Yea, they don't even fully trust Tony by the end of Iron Man II, let alone trust him for official Shield business before that. He would be just as likely to screw things up as to help.

I do think that Thor probably takes place while Tony is getting his s**t together.

But doesn't Coulson find the hammer itself at the end of the events of Iron Man 2, which by then, Tony has cleaned up his own mess? And given that it'll most likely be a while before Thor comes across the hammer in order to attempt in picking it back up, that would give ample amount of Tony to be available unless there's something bigger going down off screen

That scene (finding the hammer) shows up at the end of Iron Man 2 because it was an add on/ extra scene. We don't really know where in the timeline it actually occurred, though. It very well could have taken place shortly after Coulson leaves Stark, but before things with Whiplash wrapped up.

I think they kept the frost giants a little smaller so the destroyer would be that much more imposing.
But in the scene where Thor threw the hammer in the trailer, the giant he hit looks pretty damn big

Well, it could just be like the books, and each hero is just not available all the time. ie: When the FF faced Galactus the first time round Spider-Man, the Avengers etc, never showed up.

Same logic can apply here. Destroyer shows up, and Stark is simply busy elsewhere.

^^^ Very true, we could be making more of it than necessary. Could be the simple answer.

In some ways I they set up the Coulson thing was to sort of take away the idea that "Iron Man" should've been there to help out in the Thor situation (as well as an easter egg). I know I personally have thought about that from time to time. Alas Iron Man was too busy with his situation.
