  • "Julian will be seen". WHat! . what does that mean? the ESSENTIAL aspect of Doom is that his face is NOT seen. that the mask comes to represent his face. (it worked GREAT for V for Vendetta, why not Doom) The only way this could be ok is in a flash back scene. otherwise, this is just another proof that they simply don't know or understand the character.
I think he means that Julian will be wearing the suit. He won't just be doing the voice.

At least they changed the production designer from the one from Scooby Doo to the Lara Croft one. An improvement?
Hmmm, huh, you know... maybekindasorta...

Yeah that's what he meant.

they could do the old Doom in shadow type thing in there though. And a flashback is always possible.

Let's see, that's three misspellings, one non-sentence, one statement of opinion as fact and one unnecessary vulgarity.
Pretty impressive.

I like what I'm reading, and the usual suspects are crawling out of the woodwork to rain on a FANTASTIC parade...maybe it's a super hangover!

FF: ROTSS   :)

I guess that is directed at Ultimatefan,he is a supporter of all movies until they give him reason not to be,isn't it understandable that many fans are cautious after last time ?

Got that right.
I'm not thin-skinned at all about folks not liking the first film. In fact I didn't really care for it myself, and I'm a life-long fan of 35+ years.
It was, in all honesty, a bitter disappointment for me.
But some of these vulgar and poorly thought-out posts that seek not to critique, but to bash, ridicule and discourage - these consistantly serve to remind me just how extensive the influx of trolls was in here last summer. And like several other regulars around here (JMAfan comes to mind) I'm beginning to question how much time I should continue spending here.
We've heard some encouraging things from Tim Story about the new movie, maybe we've even had some influence... But I'm not sure I want to follow every leaked photo and script this time around and know too much going in.
I really like the idea of going into this one and being surprised.

Are you ever gonna open your PM:D

wetas doing it?!?! NO WAY!!

I believe that I trust Story and his assertion that the larger Thing brow is not as cinematically practical as we would like for it to be (I know they say it's going to be larger) still, - much like the fact that I would have loved to have seen footage of Mel Blanc in the day, doing Bugs, Foghorn, Daffy,...etc., I would love to at least see this larger brow that they say won't work. I think we at least deserve to see the proof for ourselves.

As for Mel Blanc (and I know this is completely off subject) but despite all the cool extras that have come out on the Looney Tunes collections, - am I the only one who thinks it was extrememely poor foresight, on someones part, to not have taped this man doing his thing back then?!

Well, as most people on this board know, i disliked the first movie, i think it is (while still being watchable) one of the worst modern CB movies out there today.

But i like some of the things Story is saying, others not so much. But as far as i am concerned, the more GOOD CB movies we get the better for people.

That's a cool update. I had sent that to the front page but then went to post it here earlier today and it was already here. I hope MARVEL.com links the pages for each film to these blogs to make things simple. I guess I'll e-mail the web designer there and request he does that. He's on myspace too.

Tim was just online for about 30 minutes but didn't update his blog...yet. He's offline now. Those cells are funny as hell man. It proves that you can't just translate the 60's mindset to a film in 2006 without being the joke of the civilized world.
