What is a hater?
Again I think Tim was referring to people not giving the second film a chance when he talks about haters.
well that's how you interpret it. I interpret it differently. I take Tim's tone as being anyone with any criticism, doubt or legitimate questions is a hater. This is just a matter of opinion so I won't argue that point. That just how I see it.
I think you have to respect people who are wary of Fox, they are suits.
However I find it hard to think that Ralph Winter and Tim Story would lie about the appearance or non appearance of Galactus.
And Horatio Story did not lie about the brow,he said they would be slight changes and they have been, its not exactly as it was. You can clearly see that in the shots and in the teaser.
I personaly do not see any discernable differences between the 2 Things. Are there technical changes? I'm sure there are, just as there were changes between the Spider-man 1 costume and the SM2 costumes. But they aren't real "changes as they are basically the same Thing. other than Story telling us there is a difference in the brow I don't see it. besides, prior to the pics of the new Thing being sneaked, Story had pretty much said the same thing as he's saying now about Galactus and Doom. That the Brow would be addressed and that the fans will like it. It wasn't until just before the pics came out that he started saying that " a big brow wouldn't look as good as we might think". which btw is another obvious lie.
Now are you trying to be deceptive. Why, because you want us to be more negative than we should be. Why.
I am not trying to be deceptive. I am only pointing out the obvious. If you've read my posts you will see that where they get it right I support Story and the movie. I think they did a GREAT job on SS. I've said so. if pictures of Galactus or Doom surface tomorrow and they look great, I'll be the first one to say so. It's just that I will also point out the bad. and so far other than SS what I see isn't looking very good to me.
Comics used to be fun man, that is what the movies were supposed to be. FF got knocked because it was not dark enough, did not take itself seriously enough, but if you went back and read the early issues the movie feels like a clone.
Yes comics and movies are supposed to be fun, but that doesn't mean it can't be good, or serious, or intelligent and interesting. and I'm sorry but I have to tell you you're wrong here. Very wrong. I have gone back, I've read the issues, many times over, and though there was humor, the FF comics always took itself seriously. there is this HUGE misconception that the comics were light and fun and games. I don't know where that comes from because that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes Ben and Torch played practical jokes on each other but they also got pissed with each other plenty of times also. and when the FF faced threats, they were real, serious, and heavy; not light and fun. I recommend that you pick up the essential FF 2-5 and read for yourself how awesome these stories were.
I understand you are wary of fox, so fine but when you make misleading statements it appears that you yourself are on an agenda or are biased and are ignoring facts.
once again this is not the case. read above with regards to the Thing. and remember my support of what I see of SS so far.
There was a rumour going around that Julian would not be in the movie and that they were hiring a stand in. Tim came out and said that would not be the case and we would be seeing his face. He was telling the truth as Maury would say.
I can't find anywhere where Tim has lied.
He says no one knows how Galactus will look, clearly loan does not know and we know that Fox has been super secret with this production.
They know if the negativity starts rolling it may snowball.
So am I going to thrash the studio because they made some changes in the movie that I did not like, no they have shareholders to answer to and clearly they are not as forward thinking as Sony, but that is life you don't always get everything that you want.
That being said, you should not cut off your nose to spite your face.
That is just stupid. As AD said people wishing a movie fails so it can get a reboot in 5 years, man, who knows if they are going to wake up tomorrow.
I wish they would pull a matrix, shoot these things back to back and realease them every year. Who knows how long the world will be here, there are nuclear bombs everywhere and people are trying to build more.
you see I take this statement as evidence of
you having an agenda and a bias towards this film. according to you everything is or will be ok and if it isn't ?,..well you understand why and that's ok too.
this is in light of the screw ups of the first film.
That IMO is being biased. Because it seems to me
you are closing your eyes to the facts presented to you.
the way I feel is this. I want NOTHING more than for FF2 to ge a masterpiece that makes 400 million dollars like SM did. BUT I won't allow my wishes or desires to blind me to what's in front of me.
That being that in the first film everything that went wrong and did not work were the things that were different from the source material. Just as everything that did work came directly from the comics. I am looking for signs that Story understands this and instead of repeating the same mistakes of presuming to come up with something better, he will honor and respect the material.
So far I don't see any evidence of that (other than the look of the SS). Even something as little as a brow was not corrected. So forgive me if I doubt whether Dr. Doom will be.
and remember just because someone in hollywood tells you that something will be done it doesn't mean that it will be.
I am a fan of the
FANTASTIC FOUR. Not the concept of the FF, not the spirit, or the essence of the FF but of the FANTASTIC FOUR themselves. the further you are from the FF the less interested I am.
I am not cutting off my nose to spite my face. Not seeing Cat woman does not hurt me in any way. No more than not seeing ultra violet doesn't.
and yes, I'd rather not see a anything than to see a butchered version of something I've loved all my life.
