How exactly? If the scary, scarred Asian dude turns out to be Shredder all along it still does not explain the reason they even bothered to put Fichtner in the movie. A twist maybe but why does everything now have to be like
Batman Begins or
Iron Man 3? Shymalan may love that but Oroku Saki having a white guy taking care of his business, building the Foot Clan, upgrading his armor, and let alone he has a butchered whitewashed-version of his name doesn't bother you at all as a fan? Let alone a movie-goer? I know in the 90's movies that white people were a part of the Foot Clan as well as different nationalities, but it was mostly a Japanese-run/Japanese-manned crime organization. Here it seems like a corporation with a military complex built into it. I don't see a lot of traditional ninja garments, much if any ninja weapons besides the Turtles, and Shredder has been changed to a more robotic look. Meanwhile, the real Shredder, if the Man in the Shadows is him, and the old Shredder armor just sits in some room. What?
I don't know how one can honestly defend half of the stuff this movie is doing.
