Tom and Jerry returning to the big screen....... IN LIVE ACTION/CGI movie!

EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros. Interested In Zoey Deutch And Olivia Cooke For A Role In The Live-Action 'TOM and JERRY' Film

We have learned that Warner Bros. has interest in and has met with Zoey Deutch (Set It Off) for a role in the upcoming production. The studio is also very interested in Olivia Cooke, who they are high on after starring in Ready Player One last year. Whoever the studio decides on they would be taking the role of Kayla, who teams up with Tom to stop the pesky Jerry from ruining an important event for herself.

Other names we have learned are on the shortlist for the role include Yara Shahidi, Kelly Marie Tran, Becky G and Isabella Moner.

So basically just a teenage or young chick that owns Tom. Like in a lot of the shorts.

I imagine Jerry won't be the villain, it's likely a misunderstanding and Tom and Jerry will pair up to face the real villain.

With Sherlock Holmes 3 moving to 2021, they could feasibly release Tom and Jerry in December 2020 although that would mean facing Sing 2.

I'm all for Jerry being the villain. It's been years but still haven't forgiven him for getting Tom beheaded on a guillotine. That little prick

EXCLUSIVE: Peter Dinklage Is Warner Bros. Top Choice For The Lead Male Role In The Live-Action ‘TOM and JERRY’ Film - That Hashtag Show

We have learned that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is the studios top choice for the lead male role. If all works out Dinklage would take the role Terrance, the films anatgonist, and Kayla’s boss. Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Ride Along) is on board to direct and is written by Bryan Schulz, Cornelius Uliano (duo behind The Peanuts Movie), and Kevin Costello (Brigsby Bear). Production expected to begin this June in London, with hopes to wrap some time in mid to late September.

Best villain name ever.

Somehow I don’t think Peter Dinklage would like to be the guy making pratfalls while a cgi cat and mouse harass him.

The end credit stinger better be Kayla getting a new bulldog named Spike.

Moretz is poised to play Kayla, a new employee at a posh hotel where Jerry takes up residence, threatening to ruin a glamorous wedding. She hires a broke alley cat named Tom to come in and get rid of Jerry, which proves to be easier said than done.

That may be for the best, as the duo will likely need each other to defeat Kayla’s villainous boss, who isn’t a big fan of either one.

I remember being scared of the moment where Tom pretends to be a present in a box and Jerry pierces it with needles and cuts it with a hand saw. Probably the most violent episode. As well the one where Tom dies (again) and has to earn Jerry's forgiveness. Dark stuff for a 5-6 years old.

That sounds about right, it feels like a plot from of their older episodes.

I feel we got this movie already. What was that movie with the cat and the mouse

Such a standard plot. I will be watching it though.

and also this

She probably doesn't wanna get pest control involved because then people will know they have rats.

I don’t think we need to deal with any realistic logic when dealing with this movie.

So we know for sure that Tom and Jerry will be CGI and not a real cat and mouse?

Because on the one hand, they should look more faithful to the cartoon, but on other hand it will probably be more like Sonic than Pikachu.

A real cat and mouse wouldn’t work at all for Tom and Jerry.

Although the behind the scenes footage on all the cats and mice who died during production would probably be more exciting than the actual film we’re about to get.
