Homecoming Tom Holland IS Peter Parker / Spider-Man - Part 1

Not worried about him aging well into an adult. He's gonna pull off 15 well and the remainder of high school. And I'm actually concerned a tiny bit that he's looking older now.

Me neither. I'm 25 and I really didn't age that much between when I was 18/19 and like 23. Plenty of people don't. Even though he does look young to me he only really gets away with schoolage because of hairstyle and clothes and his acting so it won't be a problem to age him up. People forget most highschoolers look like literal children and that there is a difference between that and a 20 year old.

As someone who turns 21 Monday, I still look young af lol.

I was told I could pass for 16 yesterday. :(

Does Peter Parker really need to be some big deep voiced guy? Because Tobey Maguire isn't.

I don't really think it matters if Holland stays small (which at his age it seems obvious he's going to) or has a high voice. He's playing Parker, not Bruce Wayne. Parker isn't reallly butch or anything.

Well, Peter's height in the comics fluctuates between 5'10" & 6'0" so he's not short. Peter being 15 in the MCU means he's still going through puberty. Him having the same height Tom currently does four years into the future wouldn't make sense in-universe. He should be growing.

Tom's voice is fine imo. Maybe ask him to sound more mature

Peter/Spidey is one CB character where being short(er) is actually an advantage.

I don't really think it's gonna be something anyone is going to be questioning.

I never liked spidey with a real deep voice. Th 60s cartoon had him with a deep voice and it was so creepy

Even if "Peter" has a deep voice, "Spider-Man" should always have a higher pitched voice to convey his light and friendly neighborhoodedness.

I just attributed that to his voice being muffled.

Yeah, I uh..I don't know. :oldrazz:

My personal preference is Peter's voice gets muffled by his mask and that's it. No need for pitch change or different voices.

Height is tough to convey in the comics, especially for a hero who's villains are always larger than he is.

Tom's height is perfect and so is his build. He's Spidey for years to come. Or until SONY drops the ball and decides to try Miles.

Miles is their animated Spidey but Peter will always be the live action Spidey. Only way that ever changes is if interest for Peter drops and that's not likely.

The best Spider-Man voice is far and away the one from the 90's Animated Series and the 2000 video game.

Basically everything from that universe is the definitive Spider-Man for me.

Anytime I read a Spidey monologue in the comics it's always usually done in Christopher Daniel Barnes' voice. It's so hard not to.

And then I always imagine Rino Romano as maybe any slightly younger version of Spidey:

But Peter's height is sometimes specified & he was never short. Not sure where everybody is getting that idea from. I prefer a taller Spider-Man myself but Holland can't be the same two movies from now, his build is perfect for a young Spider-Man but people are going to wonder why Peter is still going through puberty if nothing's changed. They need to add 1 inch on Tom to make him equal height with RDJ at the very least. Show Peter & Stark as equals like they are in the comics.

Even the Ultimate comics showed the realistic difference between a 15 year-old Peter & an 18 year-old Peter:

Amen.

The voice of Spidey I hear in my head fluctuates between Rino and CDB.

It makes sense, but it's not a rule. I was 6'0'' when I was 15 and since then got only up to 6'2'' and it's been 8 years.
Yeah, not a rule that it has to happen that way. But generally, that's how it goes. I grew from 5'6" to 5'10" between the ages of 14 & 17. Marvel wants to highlight him being a kid so it would make sense to highlight him as an adult as well. It's not like it'd even be hard because RDJ is like two/three inches shorter than Paltrow, Evans, Hemsworth and etc and they gave him lifts & utilized camera tricks to make him equal height to all of them. Adult Peter's should be the same imo. Also Holland's physique should get a little bit bigger

Usually I hear the 90s animated amazing Spider-Man in my head whenever I read a comic or see a pic. It's crazy how all these years it still sticks with me.
