i think BR did decent as superman But main hack was BRYAN SINGER

he compeletly ruined superman's image he wasn't suppsed to be depressed emo superhero who doesn't even smile or is in light mood

throughout SR u see superman in very dark seriuous modd which superman is NOT and of couyrse lack of action in SR which was main complaint by many

i say keep BR as superman but sign some better director who understands what or who superman is and should be

I couldn't agree more!!!

Yea maybe BR could have done better if he got a better script. But since WB has finally come out and said that SR was a failure for them and they are going a new fresh start. They are more likely not having BR or any cast members from SR return and singer wont be back either. They want to go all new direction so they want no connections to SR.

If any of you have any additional ideas on how to gain support, i'm all ears :)

Wooow, He has rarely ever looked more like his comic-book counterpart.
Damn, If this dude ain't superman in the next movie, I'll fu**ing hurt somebody.
unbelievable. THIS IS SUPERMAN. I wish there was a way for us to convey this to the WB.
On my to do list.

I just have to finish a current one of Welling I'm working on, and then straight to this one.

I voted tom and so far tom/chris are the top ones were george and routh got nothing.

Great little article.

I voted for Chris, of course. Poor Brandon, though.

YEa i said that too any good manipers out there take that tom pic and put the suit on him or something.

Alright..Let's assume Warner hires Tom to play Superman in the reboot. How should they do it?...
-Ignore Smallville background (ie-the other cast members and storylines.
-Use Smallville as the setup for the movie. Basically, a movie version of the show
-Just have Tom as Supes but just not discuss his past in Smallville.

Hmm, what I'm more curious about is what might their excuse be this time for not hiring TW (assuming he indeed wants the role). After all, when JL was being planned, they were talks about keeping Supes out of the movie in order to not confuse fans with a third active face for Superman. Yet now with the reboot, they're faced with the same dilemma. Bringing back BR will make it look like a sequel, yet bringing in a new face is going to "confuse" us all. So aside from TW denying the role, why else would WB not want this guy?

well now routh won first place, Welling got 2nd and Chris Reeve got third
Hmmm, something smells fishy. When Routh has nearly twice as many votes as the legendary Reeve, you know something weird is going on.

Warner Bros. wants to reintroduce Superman, making the movie as accessible to all audiences as possible. Why would the studio limit itself by hiring Tom Welling?

Tom is winning again, but really anyone can vote as many times as they like (refresh and hit change vote) so i don't know how accurate it is. I don't need a poll to tell me who's best though

I'm not necessarily saying that they should be limited to him, I'm simply saying what could their reason be for not wanting him this time around. I mean for JL, they didn't want to put Routh in without Bale as Batman because then the movies wouldn't seem tied together like they would've liked it to be. And since Nolan and Bale were strongly against using a different adaptation of Batman for JL, they decided to cut Superman as well stating that it was because they didnt want to confuse fans with a new Superman. Yet now they've pushed JLA to the side and are planning to introduce a new Superman anyway. So why not just stick with JLA (without Batman) and introduce the new Superman, then go to the solo flicks like it was planned, rather than completely scratch JLA, which was pretty much already set to start filming?

And if TW is hired now, the movie could stil be accessible to all audiences since the average movie goer probably doesn't even know that Smallville is a show about Superman (if they've even heard of it. I know I had no clue until I started watching it back in Season 5), and just hearing about a new Superman movie will spark interest. And with TW, you also get a large SV fanbase for those who do know who he and what the show is. This will also provide those who have criticized the show for not being the Superman show that they expected it to be, to finally have nothing to complain about. Although of course, this ties back to Zipbags' question about how would they make the film assuming TW gets the role. You risk confusing SV fans if you bring in TW with a completely new cast and new plotline that is not connected to the show. And while you also risk confusing the average movie goer if it's a movie version of the show, since most people will be clueless as to what happened on the show, this could lead the average movie goer who is interested in learning about the Smallville past to pick up the past season of SV on DVD to understand the movie better, which ultimately leads to more $ for WB.
