I still don't know which mind to be of on this. He has been passed over a few times already, so clearly WB is more than happy to do this without him. But these press clippings + the fact that they cannot afford to fail again (financially) could also mean they pick what they would perceive as the safe choice.
I would be interested to read Jack's take, but WB is only getting one more chance at this before they have to bury the character for a while. Would they really ignore such an easy choice for the role?
I still don't get why they're so stupid about picking him. He's the easiest person to market. Guys would watch it if there was action, and you could plaster Welling on every female mag, and they'd watch it because he tends to be easy on the eyes to them.
Hollywood is the twilight zone of common sense, so I guess I don't know either.
