I sometimes wonder if it's worth watching Torchwood just for the two or three good episodes we get per season. The rest range from mediocre to downright awful.

This weeks one wasn't much either they all have pretty much sucked so far. I think Primeval has been better

Primeval's been pretty good. It's gotten a bit silly with all the gunplay and how badass everyone seems to be in the new reality (hell, even Connor is apparently a genius programmer/inventor). The core character work is still pretty good, though. At least there's only one philanderous homewrecker on the team right now.

I actually thought "Reset" was a decent episode. Not great, but it was nice to see Tosh and Owen actually make a date as if it's not a big thing, rather than continuing all the angsty bull**** the show is known for. "Reset" didn't feel as much like a self-parody as "Adam" did, at the very least.

I like Ianto, kind of. I can buy him as a bisexual, I guess. If Martha stuck around, I think she could be fun. She works a lot better in this context than in Dr. Who to me.

Did anyone else find it ood that Gwen could not move out of the way of a dude on crutches?

In the 1918 ghost one.....she sees a "ghost" moving towards her...and she does not move....then closes her ****ing eyes! What kind of Torchwood team member is she?

Yeah, Gwen sucks. She was stupid in that ghost episode. I was like, "Why aren't you doing anything? Move, grab your gun, yell at the person, do something other than cowering in fear, you dumb ****!"

The same thing occurred to me in this week's episode, actually. The doctor dude shoots Owen and everybody just stands around like jackasses. Every ****ing Torchwood member has their gun trained on him, but they all just stand around for a good five or ten seconds with the guy still waving his gun around. As soon as the shot that killed Owen sounded, Jack should've put a bullet between the guy's eyes. Way to have the reaction time of swiss cheese.

I'm actually more interested in UNIT now that Martha works for them. Why does England need so many alien investigation agencies?

Isn't Torchwood more there to monitor and record Alien contact, where as the Unit is a strikeforce to deal with alien enemy threats although there roles my over lap.

Well I don't know as Jack re-formed Torchwood after the original version went bust right?

I thought it was the other way around, to be honest. Torchwood is repeatedly referred to as the frontline against alien incursion. It's been Torchwood's troops who opposed alien threats in Dr. Who since the relaunch.

Hmm you see now that Torchwood (pre Jack) is gone.

All they have is Jacks band of freaks...which fail. He can do better right?

I remember Jack telling the DR that he reformed Torchwood for him. In his honor to try to protect Earth.....

I do not remember any mention of other branches.
