It's TRON. It's a damn "awesome fun times popcorn eatin' too many mike & ikes flick." I bet all the haters saying how weak the story is, blah blah, etc haven't even seen the first film.

Tron/Rinzler was a badass mofo. I wish they redeemed him completely though. There's that hint at the end, so I wouldn't mind him being a major character again in the next Tron outing.

I've seen the first and was disappointed because what you mentioned...it's TRON. They could have taken him out of the movie, kept Rinzler as a new character, and it hardly would have changed anything.

How about instead of:

SAM
I have to get to the portal. I can delete CLU from there

we had

FLYNN
CLU is embedded in the system. You won't be able to find him.

SAM
If we found a way to get to Rinzler, could you reprogram him? Reboot his original code? Maybe add that isomorphic algorithm....

Flynn considers this.

If there is going to be another Tron movie then I want Quorra and Sam back,to me Sam is more active than Kevin, and I like that.

Agreed. I also want them to use the light-cycles and disc wars outside of the games - as in, they should use them in real battles and chases in the next one.

flynn didn't make the isos

Yeah, but I thought maybe he could have borrowed something from Quorra.

Point was to have them to get Tron involved as part of the solution.

tron helped at the end, and was revitalized when he fell into the water. he'll probably be a big part of the sequal.

if seems they didn't want to sho his face that much... for maybe budget reasons?

If Kevin can reprogram?! a digital character by pounding his fist on their head then couldn't he have done that to Clu? And something else doesn't make sense since Quorra was an ISO being then what the heck was with her coming across as a character who wasn't created? Kevin created the ISOs and also said that he didn't create the race that he came across,he said in a non flat out way that those beings were a manifestation.

huh?

clu wasn't a run of the mill program, like the soldier flynn reprogrammed.

the isos were beings that manifested themselves. i thought that idea was rather cool... and beautiful. :)

I had it in mind that it could be because of Clu being special compared to the other programs,I just rather be sure of it. As for the ISOs then yeah it make sense that Quorra was a different kind of ISO.

The first half of Tron had some amazing action and I loved the disc fighting . Also Daft Punk did an excellent job and they had a funny cameo . I found tron 2 to be highly enjoyable and liked some of the new ideas. There were some minor things , Flynn didn't seem consistent , The beginning was a little over the top but it established Flynn Jr as someone who could handle himself in a dangerous situation, and the cgi used for clu wasn't entirely convincing but good enough not to be distracting. Also Olivia Wilde is gorgeous and I'm hoping for Tron 3 .

One of the things that threw me off was the Flynn's having a meal , How does that work out ? and could a human live eternally by being in the grid instead of the real world?

in the original tron the inhabitants of the computer world were actual running programs. i don't know if it's the same in legacy.

so i thought that all the citizens or whatever were created by flynn, with the help of clu and tron. that's why flynn can reprogram them easily, but not clu. clu was bestowed with more power. and didn't flynn say he brought tron over from the other server?

Well when Sam got cut in the disc fight, blood came out. So maybe they still need to eat, too.

Also, the programs drank, so maybe everyone needs sustenance.

people ate and drank when in The Matrix ;).

My guess is that he thinks of what he want's,and once he doe's that he create's it.

I just realized why I wanted CLU dead:
He had Daft Punk nuked along with The End Of Line Club.
More realistic script:

CLU: Muhaha Castor, it's end of line for you.. Wait, Daft Punk you can leave. Uhm the smoking hot white latex chick can come with me tooo.

Ok now nuke it.

I'd say I'm a pretty tough critic, but I enjoyed this film. The world of Tron with today's special effects was amazing. The Grid was probably the best fictional, otherworldly area I've seen in a film in years. Garrett Hedlund did a good job, though he isn't the most charismatic lead. Jeff Bridges was great as Kevin Flynn and as Clu. But the one who stole the show was Olivia Wilde. Even though she didn't have a huge role, it was her natural charm and little mannerisms that stood out.

Digital Jeff Bridges didn't look real, but it was the best that today's technology can achieve. With that said, it didn't distract me whatsoever, so the special effects crew did their job right. The pacing is maybe the only big issue with the movie. It just wasn't as consistent and that will likely be more apparent with repeat viewings. The action is fantastic with the End of the Line Club fight scene being the best. Daft Punk did great with the soundtrack and they definitely deserve the Oscar nomination. For them to not get it would be a snub. I'm hoping for the film to get some more legs, because a sequel would be great even though I'd actually prefer not to have one. I liked how the film ended with some things left open (like not knowing if Flynn actually survived reintegration with Clu or what Tron will do after he gets out of the Sea of Simulation).

I enjoyed the film and it actually exceeded my expectations. This is the best December tentpole in years.

Rating:

3/4 stars or 8/10

Flynn reprogrammed the soldier via his disc. When that didn't work he bopped him on the head. Think of it as when Han pounded the Falcon in ESB to get it going.

He didn't create the ISOs at all.

Yeah, if I were CLU, I would have done the same thing as well :awesome:

i like to think that Daft Punk left the club once Clu and his goons were there. remember, there was no more music playing when Castor and Clu were negotiating Kevin's disk

Yeah, they got word that CLU was coming and they were like "Naw, I'm out of here."

Did anyone cheer when a certain someone said "I Fight For the Users!" ?

Naturally, I was also expecting to see [blackout]Tron after he fell into the Sea of Simulation and rebooted his systems to fly out the ocean fully re-energized and beat the cybernetic crap out of Clu defeating him while Kevin escaped back to the real world with his son and Quorra[/blackout]

I would have been cool with that!!

I got pretty :awesome: when he said that. So did my friend.

I definitely want to see this movie again before it's out of the theaters.
