True Blood - Part 1

Demons, creatures from another dimension called Britlingens, other fae specific characters like Elves, Nymphs, etc, and other animal specific weres, like there is a Were-Tiger that's a relatively large presence in a few of the upcoming books after book 4.

With Tigers being my favourite animal, I like this. Although I hope they are a bigger threat to Vampires than Were-Wolves are. It was such a disappointment for them to be spoken of in a such a negative light and then during their first appearance, Bill takes out about 5 with no trouble at all.

I feel that the True Blood universe is missing something, and that is the presence of a powerful yet peaceful species.

If you look at the supernatural world as a parallel to the natural world, I think you could say that Vampires are something like Lions. They're fast, strong and generally feared. But even the Lion has herbivorous it wouldn't stand a chance against. Elephants, Hippos and Rhino's.

Where are the respective Elephants of the True Blood world? Kind compassionate supernaturals, who generally keep to themselves, have no desire for the domination of humans, or the extinction of Vampires. And yet, should they be given a reason to be vengeful, even the oldest Vampire would run in fear.

Lastly, I find Tera's Atheism to confusing. In our world, Atheism makes sense, but how do you lack the belief in anything when dead men walk the earth for millennia and your cousin has been possessed by the spirit of a witch you saw die? I could have understood her once being an athiest, but surely the last few years would have given her enough proof of something after this life?

Wouldn't Bill and Eric feel Sookies pain, over Tara and give her a dose of vamp blood?

I actually thought that when Debbie showed up, another one of sookies fairy-protectors was going to show up.

And i hope for christ sake Alcide doesn't join the ranks of men swooning after Soookie next season...:cmad:

Im guessing to TB writers the sun and witches are Vampires threat.

And just because Vamps and spirits exist doesnt mean there is a god. So Tara can still be atheist.

Uhhh..... I think you're a little late there.

I know. I'm kinda hoping he doesn't come back...but solely because of it. I hope they really cut back the Eric/Bill/Sookie triangle next season. I'd like to see Bill and eric reluctantly working together next season.

If Tara is gone, that makes Lafyette the only minority on the damn show. It won't be the same seeing as how the down south has always been known for it's racial tension amongst it's human population...

I agree. Tara and Lafayette were probably the main two reasons I picked up and started watching this show since they brought some diversity and the Af-Am point of view to living down in the honky tonk south.

Now with Jesus gone, and Tara possibly gone they lost a ton of the diversity (hispanic and African-American female PLUS both of them were gay) in the cast which is a shame since that's one of the aspects that brought me to the show.

Not to say that I don't like many of the other characters still on the show. It just kinda sucks. :( I guess we still have Lafayette and Luna.

I want Alcide back just to see him and Sam and Eric/Bill as the guys that Sookie has rejected turned best friends. I need to see him do hardcore werewolf ****.

Well if they keep some of the book storyline's from next couple of books, then we'll be seeing a lot of Alcide and the werewolves and their hierarchy/politics.

Plus Debbie's death has far bigger repercussions for Sookie if you've read the books:

You find out Debbie is adopted and her adoptive sister Sandra and her family have Sookie kidnapped and question her about Debbie's disappearance. They also send a spy to Bon Temps under a witches spell to follow and infiltrate Sookie's life. Sandra Pelt also becomes a recurring villain in the later books.

I gotta say , I really didn't like the final this season. To me ,It felt kinda rushed , sloopy, and lazy . The rest of the season was pretty good but the finale felt like they got a couple things right but it went off the rails with alot of the other storylines.

Spoilers
Imo they killed off way too many good characters , brought back a couple from the dead , to which I was like WTF, and ended the Marnie storyline in a way that was pretty weak given everything that lead up to it.

Not saying its terrible , but I felt this was the weakest episode this season.

if you want a crappy weak and lazy finale, watch the Entourage series finale

Turning someone or giving them vamp blood only works if the person is alive. Tara is dead, she's bled out and her brains are all over the floor. She's DEAD.
Now... that doesn't mean Rutina Wesley is off the show.

I was thinking about that before, and wonder how or even if they'll go about it since they've changed a LOT of Alcide's pack life from the books, like how he only just joined the Shreveport pack instead of always being a member, we don't know if some of the politics are the same, etc. Maybe since Alcide is the one who killed Marcus, he'll have a chance to take over the pack.

And another repercussion from the death:

It's essentially been the biggest reason that Alcide and Sookie never got together. Alcide never fully got over his feelings for Debbie and knowing Sookie killed her has kinda cooled his feelings for Sook. Plus, if Tara dies, it may cool any feelings she has for Alcide, since her mind may forever tie Debbie to him.

Which would be a shame, since I always liked the possibility of them as a couple. On one of my many re-readings of the books, something about their first scene together in her kitchen, where they went through it like they'd been doing it for a long time, just kinda clicked for me and I kinda hope Charlaine revisits it before the series ends.

Jesus said it himself. Lafayette's a medium. I bet he'll be talking to alot of dead folk next season.

I think most people already realize that, but it would get kinda boring after awhile when she can't interact with anyone else unless she possesses Lafayette. Oy, I can just see them trying to have TaraLafayette hitting on Sam looking for some of their old lovin.

I'm sorry, but we really don't know what they're going to pull at the beginning of next season so to say she's 100% dead one day after the finale is very premature to say the least.

Very true. I'm Afro Am, and would watch the show regardless as i like vamps and whatnot but a lot of my family members like aunts, grandmother, etc only got hooked on the show to begin with because of the relatable minority characters.

Tara could be a medium to Lafeyette.

And I'm surprised no one mentioned Hoyt giving Jason the beating of his life. Hoyt keeps proving there's no coming back from the Hoyt punch.

Other than the obvious of changing her into a vampire, it would be cool if she was a resident ghost like Sally on Being Human.

Jason's lucky he didn't die.

Im surprised they didnt take Jessicas drinking problem and killing a little bit further this season. I was expecting her to get caught and put on trial or something. And kind of weird for Jason to be ok with her drinking off other guys. Seems like Bill would try to get her on a TrueBlood diet.

That's cause he did the smart thing and had Hoyt put the chainsaw down first.

No, I meant from the punches. One Hoyt-punch is bad enough. Multiple Hoyt-punches can kill. And a kick? He's lucky Hoyt didn't puncture one of his kidneys. :o

Well, like they said, they just want it to be about the sex between them right now, nothing more. She didn't want to feed off him because that would be a further intimate step she didn't want to take, since she always fed from Hoyt after they were together. And Bill's tried her on TruBlood, but she can't stand it, she needs the real thing.
