I don't mind the suit, but he does look more like a villain than hero. Lol he has a mean look to his face.

Bit conflicted about the suit.

It makes him look thin. Don't like the belt. And the cape has that same god-awful leathery looking, maroon-coloured effect that they had on the Superman Returns cape.

On the other hand ................ we've been spoilt with the brilliant Cavill Superman suit, which has a Hollywood budget behind it. This is a CW TV show. The suit is fairly well done with that in mind, even though some of the cosmetic choices aren't ones I would have made.

As far as Tyler goes, I'll reserve judgement but I'm not really feeling it just yet. I think someone hit the nail on the head earlier in that he has a bit of a cold and stern resting face, as opposed to some of the previous Superman actors who exuded stoicism and strength but also a warm and reassuring look. But in saying that, I remember thinking the same thing about the very first promo shots of Routh (below) for SR and although I still think that film sucks, he didn't come across as cold or villainous looking onscreen.

Tried to put some of the color back into the picture and get rid of the blue tint, think I may have gone a little overboard, but it was a quick change, might try to see if I can find a better picture of his face to put on the pic as well.

I don't think they shopped a different head in there, so much as I think they just photographed him poorly.

Well if it is Photoshop, then it's from a picture of him shot more from below. But in general, he doesn't look like he's standing in the same plane as Kara.

EDIT: Now, seeing that photo of Cavill, he looks like he's standing on the same plane as Melissa. Hoechlin does not, and once you separate him from the photo with Melissa, it becomes even more evident.

Tyler's size of his head is weird but the costume is amazing! It's definitely what the New 52 Superman should have wore. The Supersuit is "ceremonial armor" with a red cape but without the annoying collar and unnecessary seams.

Maybe they should have given him a lighter shade of suit to emphasise his muscles more. A darker one will have a more thinning effect. Or maybe he really needs to spend more time in the gym.

The first promo pics of Melissa as Supergirl were the greatest either, but you'd think they should have learned from that and given us a better one of Superman this time round.

BTW, just in case anyone, I/WE DON'T HATE THE SUIT! We're just mixed about the quality of the picture since its official and looks photoshopped.

Nice to actually get a visual idea of what his Superman will look like. He looks a little awkward, but it could just be the angle of the shot.

As far as the suit is concerned, I don't hate it, but I would change the cape attachment and the boots.

I've seen people on social media saying that you can't expect a perfect suit on a TV budget. But I don't know that that's really an issue here. If anything, this suit shows how close they came without actually nailing it. Give him the normal cape attachment and the V-cut boots, and I think it would have been perfect.

But overall, not bad. Not bad at all. If I can ever figure out what's wrong with my cable, I look forward to seeing him in action on TV.
