Supergirl Tyler Hoechlin IS Superman

I'm glad we're getting the shirt-rip. I never get enough of it.

I only became aware of the images today. I'm liking them. There are things I'd change about the suit, yeah, but, overall, I think it's a good look. Better than most other Superman screen outfits, apart from Chris Reeve's, John Haymes Newton's, Gerard Christopher's and MAYBE Dean Cain's on a good day. I am getting visions though of Tyler and Mehcad recreating that scene from the first Chris Reeve movie in which Superman rescues Jimmy from the dam. I'm finding those visions... unsettling.

"You'll be safe here... sir?"

I am sure we'll probably get a comment from Clark to James on how "little Jimmy" was so small before he hit full maturity, but now he's simply grown and is much bigger in size that he even dwarfs Superman.

They will have to put a comment in like this, otherwise it's just going to be weird how Superman is smaller than his pal Jimmy Olsen.

You mean "Bloomsday" from "Smallville"? :D

I feel this is how they ended up with Davis Bloome.

As for Superman not overshadowing Supergirl, I agree with someone at a Supergirl fan site that he already is because the talk this week is about the promo pics and behind-the-scenes photos of him. He does possess immense star power like Batman and it's a huge shadow to deal with even when Supergirl is starring in her own series.

They're not talking about much of Supergirl herself since her costume is the same as the first season and that there are no slight upgrades like Flash or Green Arrow had. So far I've been hearing about Kara's new job in Catco, along with her interactions with new characters from the sides that was obtained. But I wonder what her main story arc for the 2nd season will be.

Bridget Regan as WonderWoman my choice if the show goes into production.

Would love to see her WW garb!

Which makes me (W)onder... How far would we be along on superhero shows if the stillborn Wonder Woman from 2011 had been green-lit..?

Not that I'm saying it would have been great or not, seeing as the outfit made her look like a cheap stripper...

I guess people could never see a WW wearing blue tights. DC now has a direction for WW. A cross between Captain America and a gladiator. How much of that blueprint would make it to TV is anyone's guess.

Edit: Oh hey the pilot is on Dailymotion. Never thought is was public. Watching it now lol.

Edit 2: That pilot wasn't all that bad. That short fight sequence near the end was better than anything Kara has done fight wise in season 1. It was like a piece of Daredevil from Netflix. DD sets the bar for me. So well done. The CW should give WW another try. As with any superhero show, more action less useless drama works best for me.

I don't believe that WB will allow Batman and / or Wonder Woman in a TV series, I will have to see it to believe it.

Now that we have both Superman and Supergirl, I would like to see full supporting characters in the series, show us Maggie Swayer, Dan Turpin, Ron Troupe, Snapper Carr, Steve Lombard and Pete Ross, Lana Lang. Maybe even Lex Luthor.

Maggie Sawyer and Snapper Carr are confirmed for Season 2. Floriana Lima will play Sawyer, and Ian Gomez will play Snapper.

That would be good. Or maybe they'll just have Wonder Girl, with numerous references to an off-screen Wonder Woman?

At the very least, I'd still like to one day see a Supergirl, Wonder Girl and Batgirl team-up episode with all of them working together, while potentially making some veiled references to their mentors.

I wonder if "Amazon" ever progressed enough to have a pilot script or even an outline for what they wanted the show to be about.

I'd like to see a Wonder Girl series if Wonder Woman remains unavailable for small screen appearances. It could be interesting to have a young Donna Troy rescued by Diana, taken to Themyscira where she grows up and then decides to return to man's world to make it a better place. They could still play around with culture shock, unfair comparisons to her mentor, etc.

Hmmmm. Google tells me that "Amazon" was written, re-written and almost cast (Amy Manson) before it was shelved. And it was also apparently a Smallville-esque origin story for Diana.

I'm actually a little tired of hearing that Superman shouodnt overshadow Supergirl talk. He's the newest BIG character to appear so he's going to get lots if attention. Same way many major characters do when they appear on the other DC shows. There seems to be to much of a complex regarding Supergirl been overshadowed and quite frankly it's just ridiculous.

I agree and Superman is too iconic to stay in the background.

With all these set photo's i hope we see a LOT of him in season 2.

I'm not talking no 3 or 4 episodes for the season, no i'm talking about a majorly recurring role, like what Maxwell Lord had in S1 but more.

It would be surprising if he only appeared for two episodes from the looks of how much work they put into the suit.

Maybe Jimmy used to be a skinny/Lanky but tall guy. I watched the Justice League Crisis on Two Earth animated film and the alternate Jimmy in that film could take Superman in a fight.

WB doesn't own the television rights for Batman. Fox bought them 2 years ago.

Not bought them, WB licensed them, Fox do not have ownership of characters. As far as Batman appearing on TV goes, I will believe it when I see it.

I actually kinda liked that version of Doomsday. Sure he was pretty much like the Hulk and Doomsday himself could have looked a bit better. But still.
