Ant-Man Ultron

Or even better if Thanos isn't the main villain of Avengers 2, which is where I place my money. I think its going to be the Masters of Evil.

I've yet to see a single official confirmation. I *have*, however, seen quite a bit of evidence for the Masters of Evil theory ( notably, the announcement that the actor for Crossbones will be appearing in Avengers 2 ).

That doesn't constitute "evidence." That just constitutes a possibility that Crossbones might be back in Avengers 2 in some capacity. Could be a flashback. Could be a nightmare or personal/literal demon for Cap to fight from his own past/subconscious. Could be that HYDRA, or AIM, or whatever organization Crossbones is tied to, comes back in TA2. Could be literally *anything.*

And if somebody did a little research, I bet they'd find that almost every character --- main, support, villain, hero, whatever --- gets a multi-film contract as S.O.P. But Marvel makes the choice about whether or not to reuse them at all. (See: pretty much the entire cast of TIH.)

In any event, one possible recurrence of Crossbones' character in TA2 does not even remotely stack up against the preponderance of evidence mounting for Thanos as the Avengers 2 villain.

I think Ultron's story should be its own story, and while it would be great to keep him around like in the comics, I think he should be introduced in one Avengers film as Pym's creation, and killed off at the end of that same film by Vision, Pym, and the Avengers. Maybe bring him back in a later sequel, but for his first film no other bad guys and make it about his creation/relationship with Pym. Make it a Pym movie since Ultron is sort of all of Pym's fears and dark side brought to life. Then Pym is redeemed through Vision. So I say use him as the main villain in a version of the Avengers that has Pym and Wasp (hopefully still has Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, and Hulk) and then keep it going on to the next threat.

I saw some preview art for that Age of Ultron comic. It looks phenomenal. I want Ultron in the MCU more than ever.

You know, it's funny. I can hear Ultron's voice clearly in my head but I just can't think of any great actors who could play him really well. The best I'm thinking at the moment is maybe Jeremy Irons?

Jeremy Irons should be Annihilus (with a kind of hissing tone)

Paul Bettany maybe? with a menacing echoing techo sound

That could be cool. I always pictured Eddie Marsan as Annihilus (I'm hoping he's in the next FF movie)

just to be different, i think Ultron should have a disturbingly normal/non-robotic voice.

I would LOVE it if Ultron sounded like Hank Pym, only slightly electronic. Because Pym would have used his own voice to record for Ultron's. But it would sound electronic because Ultron is taking those Pym recordings and cut and editing them to make each word.
That also adds to the idea that Ultron is Pym's dark side made real, all his hates and fears and doubts and things Pym has tried to hide, and he also sounds like Pym and maybe resembles Ant Man's helmet.

If so, its really important you pick an actor for Pym who can do both the kind of dorkishness you would want for Pym, but who can also be compellingly ruthless.

Eric Christian Olsen, he was pretty ruthless in Not Another Teen Movie

he's definately not the only applicant but Benedict Cumberbatch can do cerebral and ruthless. i could buy him as a scientist. (directed at the other poster) i don't know that i could buy Eric Christian Olsen as a scientist (not after Dumb & Dumberer). but he'd work just fine as Eric O'Grady. :woot:

The problem is, I cannot buy Cumberbatch as Pym, at all. Pym is not Doom, and should not have Doom's demeanor and presence.

Speaking of which: :cwink:

I always thought Alan Rickman's voice would be good for Ultron.

Figured I'd bump the thread for this.

I want to see Ultron pull a Skynet and plunge the world into an apocalypse. Just imagine Captain America leading resistance soldiers against Ultron in a similar scene to this:

So wait a second...I thought Edgar Wright was working on an Ant-Man movie? Now he is going to be introduced in the Avengers sequel?

Wright's Ant-Man can still be Lang. Heck, Hank might not even be Ant-Man if he shows up in Avengers 2.
