Uncanny Avengers

Personally, I hope they add some more classic Avengers/C-list characters to the roster. What's Black Knight been up to lately?

As much as I'd like to see Black Knight, they need more X-Men.

Avengers
Captain America
Thor
Scarlet Witch
Wonder Man
Wasp

X-Men
Havoc
Rogue

Both
Wolverine

Neither
Sunfire

Even though he wouldn't be my first pick, I think Northstar would be an interesting addition to the team.

Its Havok with a K!

Sunfire is classified as an X-men character and despite being on both, I think Wolverine is classified as one as well. Its pretty even. Besides the premise behind the team was to promote human/mutant relations and going by that you got 5 mutants, 3 humans and a god.

I always forget that stupid 'K'!

And yes, Sunfire's considered an X-Character, he's never actually been an X-Man and only makes an appearance once every 4 or 5 years. His on again-off again stint in the Rogue ongoing through Messiah Complex was his longest run ever.

And at this point, it's been around 10 years since Wolverine joined the Avengers. He's solidly both.

And yes, while it's human/mutant relations, it's really Avengers/X-Men unity. It needs more X-Men.

He's still running with the Captain Britain and MI:13 crew last we've seen.

I thought he was in an issue of Avengers during Bendis' final run.....?

They should finally age Franklin Richards and put him on the team
he's been that neglected spot of pre-existing unity in the Marvel U for years
he's not an avenger, but he does bridge the "liked" superheroes with the "hated and feared" mutants

They'll never age Franklin normally bc they don't want to age his parents too much but I wouldn't be opposed to some story which causes him to age at least 8 years. I think it would be interesting to have him as a young adult in 616

yeah, just 18 or so, that would make Reed and Sue 40-ish
They are allowed to be older, they're the mom and dad of the Marvel U

Isn't Franklin 9 right now? I vaguely remember seeing a cake blown out with a 9 on it, but I could be wrong. Granted that was also years ago, maybe in the "4" series.

Thor held his own relatively well against Sentry in Siege. At that time, Thor was in pretty bad shape and Sentry was at his prime. The two are a pretty even match IMO.

I very much disagree. In that Siege fight Sentry just stood there and took a full power hit to the face from Thor's hammer, slid back on his feet a bit, then smiled. Bendis himself said the only reason Sentry died there was because he wanted to.

Which is weird bc he was about the same age as Power Pack and they are teens/young adults now while he struggles to make it to age 10

You may very well be right but things like this are exactly why the Sentry is the most boring character in the MU. No limitations means little reason to care.

They should just reveal that Franklin has that disorder where he always looks young. That way they never have to put an age on him.

Pretty sure he wasn't. He was in one of the AoU tie-ins for Avengers Assemble but I hope for a more permanent roster spot somewhere.

I swear I remember seeing a scene where Cap was talking with guys from M:13. Maybe it was Secret Avengers....?

There was a "Heroic Age" mini-series (that I never read) that was launched alongside Avengers, New Avengers, and Secret Avengers post-Siege a few years back. Could it have been there?

Just finished catching up on Uncanny Avengers and the mutant debate is interesting. I agree a lot with what Wanda said in issue #9. It makes sense to think of mutants as just peopled and not defined by what they were born with. As a black man I personally do dislike being judged by how I look before my actions.

On the other hand what Rogue said at the beginning of issue 10 about Cap really struck a cord. While Cap is undeniably one of the greats he is damn sure arrogant as heck. I feel like he has no right to assume he knows what's best for the mutant community. What Cyclops said was absolutely correct: Cap never did anything to help mutants before. Where was he and the Avengers when Wanda decimated the mutants and the mutant community was in shambles. Where were they when a bus full of students was blown up? And when the mutants finally banded together where were the Avengers when Utopia was attacked by a giant sentinel. Not to mention everything else the mutants went through. Cap can go stop Hydra on a consistent basis but can't be bothered to stop the Purifiers from killing mutants on a consistent basis.

And to judge Wolverine for his actions like his morality is so much greater than his.I may not like Wolverine all the time but I understand he makes the choice when that is the only choice. If someone could have taken Hither out as a child knowing what he would do and all the lives it would save I'm absolutely sure many would. And I love Janet but she's making me really want to see Rogue punch her one good time.

At this point Scott's solution to the problem is a better solution than this. One thing is forsure: I really like this book.

I picked up issues 2 and 6 of this at Half Price Books (it was all they had). Is this series any good? Out of all the x-men/avengers titles, this one seems the most interesting to me.

Oh yeah, I love this title. There are aspects that I don't like, but I love most of it. I think it's going to end up being one of those series that is good monthly but great when all collected. Kinda like Remender's Uncanny X-Force or Whedon's Astonishing X-Men.

Uncanny Avengers is great but nothing can come close to Remender's Uncanny X-Force run. That was an amazing title and I'm not even an X-fan!

Oh, it's not to that level yet. I just mean that it was good issue by issue, but if you sit down and read it all in one sitting, it's even better. Whedon's Astonishing X-Men was the same way.
