Uncanny Avengers

Heh, I'm guess those were directed at a deleted post, 'cause I can't see that being said towards Corp and what he said, lol.

Really enjoyed this comic when it began but I stop reading along the way.

I plan on catching up in the TPB's.

Probably the best way to go. The quality of this book shows much more when read back to back.

Love this book.

You know what would be kinda cool?
If Uriel and Eimin both fused and were displaced in time, reborn as Exodus. I think this guy never got a fair shot and it would kinda fit in well with their ties to Apocalypse(s).

So Exitar planned to destroy the world, by standing on it?

:funny:

If Thor murders Exitar, it won't save the Earth. The Celestials will be even more angry, and more will come. The Earth will be doubly condemned.

Or they'll respect it and leave. It's happened before. With Thor, no less.

Good lord, this issue was not good. It's like violence porn. Not Remender's best work at all. It's not a worthy successor to The Dark Angel Saga. It's like what X-3 was to X-Men 1&2.

I feel no jeopardy reading this because you know none of this stuff is going to stick

I'm actually glad with what happened. At the end of the day, Earth and all its heroes really shouldn't stand a chance against someone like Exitar.

Yeah I hear ya

Remender's stories are still very good, and it's the eventual emotional growth that's important
but his use of alternate realities/timelines/deus-ex-macguffins is starting to sap out some of the tension

at least with Uncanny X-force and the time-traveling/reality-hopping, it always seemed possible that someone might not make it back
This book, you know all the big names will survive

^inargueably true, but there's a difference between knowing a character will be resurrected eventually, and knowing everyone who dies'll be alive again by the end of the same arc

It doesn't bother me. It's a roller coaster ride, and so far I'm enjoying it.

I went back and reread this arc and I enjoyed it a lot more the second time through. Sure I don't believe any of these deaths are gonna stick by the end of the story (I mean, come on, [BLACKOUT]they blew up the world and the story's still going[/BLACKOUT]). But that still didn't keep me from really getting into what I was reading. I guess with the weird shipping schedule it really loses momentum between books and I started losing interest. I was actually considering dropping the book.

Does anybody else feel like when you read so many books a week, they're not able to marinate in your mind to where you can really retain and enjoy what you've been reading?

It depends on the book and my level of interest. Uncanny Avengers is one of those books that I make it a point to read the day or day after I get it.

Superior Spider-Man and Thor I can honestly say are two books right now that I can't wait to get my hands on and read with every issue released. In the past, it was more than 2 sometimes 3, 4 or 5. It fluctuates from time to time. Some books I let pile up and I forget about like Indestructible Hulk. I'm gonna read it eventually, I just have my own reading pecking order.

I pretty much make it a point to read all my books the day of if not the day after. I don't like having books pile up. I already have a stack of trades and back issues that I keep buying and have a hard time trying to read through (probably because I keep adding to it). And there are always books in my collection I want to reread (newest Secret Avengers, Velvet, Snyder's Batman, All-New/Uncanny X-Men, etc.), so I try to make time for that as well. Pile that on top of just everyday life it seems like what I read doesn't stick like it used to. I've read the Miller Wolverine mini series twice in a year and I still cant remember the details.

I'm with runawayboulder, depends on the book. I can generally remember what is going on in Uncanny Avengers and the X-books (though the recap pages help). But when I pick up Batman or Superman Unchained (and I generally don't read them right away) I can never remember what happened in the previous issue.
