Uncanny Avengers

Sunfire makes sense. He's the big hero in Japan, so why not be an Avenger, with Cap's new international focus? Also happy to see them using Wasp and Wonder Man, now that they're back. Any excuse to have Wasp again is good, and I like Remender's reasoning for Wonder Man. He and Wanda used to be an item, and this is going to use that as motivation for him wanting to help the mutants.

yeah but Sunfire has always cared only about Japan and the rest of the world be damned

just be glad Sunfire, Quicksilver, Namor AND Northstar arent on a lineup together. That would be the most arrogant group of a-holes ever assembled for a team

The article that revealed the new cast members also said that Coipel will be drawing issue #5. Don't know if he'll be doing more or if it will be going back to Cassaday, but when asked if they'll being bringing in more artist to rotate with Cassaday, they said that will be something they'll announce at a later date.

Coipel's a better artist than Cassaday anyway. Cassaday is overrated and isnt worth holding a book back so many times for. I look forward to Coipel's art and hope he does more than one issue

That line up is very disappointing. I was attracted to the idea of an X-Men/Avengers mixed-team. So now we have 2 1/2 X-Men, 5 1/2 Avengers, and 1 who is neither. Add to the fact that 2 of the new Avenger members are the two I probably care the least about and I am very underwhelmed.

I'm sold on the lineup. Looks solidly badass to me.

To quote Keanu Reeves at the end of Point Break, "He's not coming back".

Coipel has his bouts with lateness sometimes too but at least they're throwing another big name into the mix.

it was about improving mutant/non-mutant relations, not neceasrily X-men and Avengers teaming up. Right there you have 5 mutants and 4 non-mutants. That lineup is keeping in line with the goal of the team

They would never get anything done. They would spend too much time arguing.

It would be like Kane and Daniel Bryan "I'm The Avengers" "No I'm The Avenger" "I'm going to Disneyland":woot:

I'm really getting excited for Uncanny Avengers in light of the recent announcements and Remender's interviews. The idea of the team as a proactive marketing campaign as well as superheroes is intriguing, and the characters he's adding work really well toward that idea. Jan and Simon putting the skills from their non-hero careers toward making mutants not only politically accepted but cool and accessible could be pretty brilliant if Remender plays it well. Can't wait to see all this stuff play out.

I love the lineup, but I also think it would've been good for Cap to recruit Kitty, for basically the same reason Cyclops did for Whedon's Astonishing run. She is like the perfect person to put as the face of the "big, scary mutants."

She's already the face of Wolverine's mutie prep school, though. That might be offputting to those who are looking to exploit and attack any little detail about the X-Vengers they can find.

She's too busy to work for Cap. She's already headmistress of the JG school. She isnt even on an active X-men roster bc she focuses on teaching and overseeing the school

Yeah, she does all the actual work at the school, it seems. I thought it'd wind up being Beast, but it turns out Kitty's doing the heavy lifting. Either way, we all knew it was never gonna be Wolverine.

Because it would require him to stay in one title and we all know he'd get cabin fever if he committed to just one title. :cwink:

I know this is not about the Uncanny Avengers, but it IS about the Avengers...

I just finished the last four issues of the Avengers [#31-34], the trip into the Mircroverse to rescue the Wasp, and I was struck with what's wrong with modern comics.
The villain in this story was very disappointing - when the FF first entered the Mircoverse they encountered such an original and visually cool character as the Psycho Man - in this story arc we get a centaur in armor!
- yawn -
Is this really the best they could do?

Glad to see Simon and wasp back! I wish wonder man was more popular

I love Wonder Man. He was awesome under Busiek until Bendis brought him out of limbo and ruined him.
