Well I have red 'em all, and my opinion of what I've seen so far is way below my expectations. Don't like my opinion, fine.

I'm fine with your opinion, I even understand why you would have such an opinion. You might have noticed that if you weren't too busy assuming I was out to get you each time I replied to your post.

And I do treat replies quoting me as an attack on me, after all, it was my post specifically being quoted.

Why do you assume everybody that replies to your post is attacking you? Are you that easily offended? Do you assume people are attacking you even when they agree with you, or when they just chose to expand upon what you've already written?

You shouldn't be so sensitive. Really, if you get this upset by the passive, general, way with which I quoted you, then I hate to see how upset you'd get when somebody actually quoted you in order to attack you.

I don't know what it is but I just not feeling this flick. Maybe it's the director, I've never watched a Guy Richie flick and have never had the urge too.

I can always fall back on the fact that I disliked Iron Man's trailers and loved the flick, so who knows?

You must watch Snatch. It's awesome.

That's how it reads when you use one of my posts as your "general" statement about someone's ignorance about Sherlock Holmes. He's been one of my favorite literary characters my whole life, and I've got degrees in literature and journalism.

RocknRolla was good, but not as good as Snatch or Lock Stock. I think it's because, while the story was faily interesting, the characters were not as charming or colorful as the 'Snatch/Lock Stock' cast.

Rocknrolla is exactly in the same line as Lock,Stock and Snatch, and no, it's probably not as good as those flicks, but it's a very entertaining and stylish flick on it's own, and if you like the other beforementioned Guy Ritchie crime capers, then you'll probably like Rocknrolla as well.

I still need to see RocknRolla. And Lock, Stock.

I don't understand a statement like "I've never watched a so and so's film and I don't ever want to". That mentality baffles the mind.

If you don't like Lock, Stock and Snatch you really do fail at life I'm afraid.

And I SEE SPIDEY, you like to go on about Brad Pitt being a terrible actor. When you haven't seen one of his best performances ever that was Mickey in Snatch, you can't really claim such things.

And Doc if you love Snatch you will LOVE Lock, Stock. I prefer Lock, Stock to Snatch.

I did love Snatch. So I'll definitely be watching Lock, Stock when I can.

And yes, Pitt as Mickey in Snatch is one of his best peroformances.

the new trailer was awesome
RDJ and Jude Law have really good chemistry in this
looking forward to the sword fight between holmes and blackwood

Pitt's quirky roles are always his best. The only roles I liked him in were Snatch, Basterds, and Burn After Reading. Other than that, his characters are mostly forgettable, save Tyler Durden.

Pitt is a character actor really. He's better in supporting roles where he can disappear into them.

It's just that his looks make people pick him for lead roles. I guarantee if he wasn't as good looking or as famous for his looks as he is, his actual acting ability would be recognized a lot more.

Indeed. And being linked with Jolie doesn't help matters. I mean damn, what man wouldn't want to be that guy?

But I think one of his best is Mills in Se7en. His character is arrogent, brash, and impatient. The complete opposite of John Doe which serves as great irony. He played it so well. Especially the ending.

No matter how much I love Se7en, Mills is such a cliched character. Wow, a cocky, arrogant rookie detective. Where have I seen that before? Oh yeah, every cop movie ever made. Any other young actor could have played that role and we would have had the same result.

Freeman and Spacey made the film special. though Pitt had his due with Fight Club, 12 Monkeys and Snatch.

some people on the internet are saying that Holmes and Watson look gay together.

where are those people born? on mars?

if it's funny how people say stuff like that without even thinking. Because the gay culture is open, I think people tend to misinterprete what's gay and what's not these days, even in the most nonsensical way.

For example, my friend thought that Carol and Max's friendship in 'Where the Wild Things Are' was homoerotic. (he said it in a negative context) I was like "whaaa'?

of course we all know what people think of sam and frodo :/

seriously wtf ?

and that's the thing. People thought of that (in a mocking way) even though it suppose to be innocent brotherly love. It's like how I question people who thought that C3PO was 'gay'. All of a sudden, after all these years, he's now gay? (To be honest, he was a caricature in the prequels)

Movies are built on cliches. It all depends on how they are executed. And I thought Pitt played the role perfectly.

He wasn't just cocky and arrogant. He was the optimist of the story. He sees everything in black and white. The good guys always win, the bad guys always lose type of guy.

That is why the ending was so brilliant. Because it completely broke this cocky, young optimist. The part where he is being driven off in the car at the end with his eyes and face completely blank and dead looking was a brilliant piece of acting I thought.

Have you seen The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford? It's easily Pitt's greatest performance EVER. Anyone who says he is a bad actor should watch it. And well....anyone who likes stunning pieces of filmmaking should watch it too.
