If I have time this holiday season, I'm going to check out this movie with the missus for sure.

Just the way the boxing scene was shot changes my entire opinion on this movie...! That scene was so sick!

Well so far I've seen a couple of big name publications complaing its not stuffy old British Holmes so its not Sherlock Holmes which means they still think the character is Basil Rathbone take on the character :whatever:
are the stories in the books action adventure comedy like this?

They weren't exactly like this, but Holmes did go out and do some fun stuff. He goes undercover in a few of the stories, has to chase down a crook or two. It isn't all just him sitting and deducing things. And the stories were witty. Not laugh out loud funny, but they definitely have some humour in them.

Not necessarily...Holmes does like to box and fence, he has also trained in baritsu (which is a British style of self defense with Japanese roots)...he injected cocaine and occasionally opium...he's a packrat (never throws anything away)

It may sound silly, but I'm most familiar with "Sherlock Holmes" from Star Trek: The Next Generation:hehe:

can someone help me clear something up....is this movie going to be in 3D or not? I keep getting conflicting info.

There were a few scenes in the trailer that would have worked great in 3D.
And then I read in a couple places that it would be a 3D film.

I suppose it's good it's not...I have free tickets to a non-3D theater. LOL

oh christ...is this whats going to happen now?? every time a notable film comes out, the fandom will be all like "is it in 3D, is it in 3D??...fap fap fap"

I'm getting tired of 3D, to be honest. I don't enjoy watching an entire movie with an uncomfortable pair of glasses on.

I used to think that until Avatar. Now it just increases the experience for me.

sound and color are natural progressions....3D is like putting spinners on your car, looks pretty but unneccessary

3D is basically trying to ramp up interactive entertainment for the new decade and beyond. It's like the blu-ray, it's not that popular, but they're trying their damndest to force everyone to start using it and phase out DVD's.

Why is color any more of a natural progression than 3D exactly?
