:Sigh: oh well, I guess I should have learned by now not to get my hopes up.

Amen to that. With a couple of exceptions, the most successful C.B. films have had really great directors with a boatload of experience attached.I just hope that the GL movie gets a competent director. The guy who was attached before had only done like, one movie and I'd never heard of it. Nobody directors are not usually good people to trust with $100 million movie budgets without even having any kind of portfolio to show they can handle the responsibility.
I don't know why berlanti is being written off, lets face it, if the story is good its not like the director can break the film. I mean Nolan's fighting scenes aren't the greatest thing to ever grace the screen so would you have trusted him with batman with only a few films that had no effects before giving him the gig. I could even bring favreau into this, what exactly did he do before Iron Man to show that he was great (elf and zathura if I'm not mistaken). We just need a director who has a passion and understanding for the character.

Look at what happend with marvel and favreau, they announced the sequel, yet that hadn't even signed him. I think any announcements they make could be on a number of projects and not just superman.
I wouldn't fret about it, the Summit changed things a bit.
I cant help but fret, every time something looks positive it eventually gets shot right down, I'm just sick of it, i've kept quiet about it, only coming on here every now and again, but its just getting on my nerves.

Thats why I used the past tense nightwing1977. When they announced the slate they hadn't signed him, sorry if you understood my post wrong, hope that clears it up.
You know, reading some thread on Singer some minutes ago, I have the fear that given his sexual inclination, everything Berlanti will do, from casting to costume to story plot choices, will be tagged by forum trolls as "gay".Greg Berlanti is a writer/producer for LOTS of television shows, including Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money, Brothers and Sisters and other shows over the years, shows that are often praised for their characterization. And I actually think the Broken Hearts Club is a decent flick.
