I think DC's plan work fast towards the Justice League. But here me out. I think they have a plan of how to get there fast without messing up. I think the DC films will be even more entertwined than we originally assumed.

Your evidence of them always doing something is one case that didn't occur until 3 years into one of the shows? And the one they admitted was intended to be another character up until it came time to write it? They were kind of painted into a corner there, but they made lemonade.

While I can't argue that Loeb doesn't sucks, I really haven't seen any evidence of him having any real influence over the live action TV and Netflix shows. Even AoS at its worst doesn't really evince the typical Loeb flaws.

Sam Alexander is the Nova in the cartoons, who started showing up over Richard Rider a few months before Loeb even introduced him in the comics.

Here is what I don't understand about the "plan". Why is DC starting the character interactions where they are? I have to assume that WB and DC want the DCCU to be an ongoing shared universe with MOS being film number one. They then give us an aging Batman in Supermans second film. They then knowingly start their interaction with each other being influenced by Frank Miller's classic vision. That story and showdown is epic because it takes place at the "end" of their careers. (Well at least Batman's). They are basically skipping to the end without setting up their history. This fight should take place at the end of their story yet this is the start of the DCCU. Now it may work, we don't know yet but it seems odd to me. In Miller's story, Batman stands his own for a short while because he knows Clark's secrets and weaknesses. Knowledge gained after years of fighting together. If Batman pulls out kryptonite I am calling bulls/!t. I get the need to rush things along but not sure this is the best plan. We will see how it plays out.
One last gripe. They are building a shared universe that should be around for years and with all the great iconic versions of the Joker that is out there, we get this one. Sorry but this is really the one thing I can't stomach. If this Joker misses with the audience (so far it has me and it pains me I assure you) then what happens next. DC can't keep hitting the reset button like they have the past 10 years.

My biggest critique of the MCU approach is that you have a lot of movies that feel like filler. Stuff meant to get us to the main events of the CU. At the moment I like what I am seeing from the DCCU because it looks as if they plan to dodge that. I sort of hope they decide to look at something more character driven as opposed to event driven (where the MCU had a very character driven start (with some movies like GotG, IM3, that do feel character driven) that has been given up in favor of pushing toward bigger cinematic events).

Again, and Snyder has mentioned this, the story is influenced by Miller's TDKR. I mean do you honestly think Superman is working for the president here and being sent out to take down Batman? I highly doubt it. I believe one of the reason we have an older Batman here is to skip all these origins we no longer want and or need. He is THE DC character who can already be established as existing where a Flash or Cyborg needs to be young and introduced. I wouldn't doubt they're borrowing from LEGO Batman where he doesn't trust Superman and constantly refers to him as "alien" much like Lex.

I agree, much does feel like filler. Like during Phase One we get Iron Man 2, which I never asked for. MARVEL made it clear we'd get Iron Man, Hulk, Thor & Cap THEN an Avengers movie. Well stop wasting my time with this sequel I want a film on Thor or Cap first to get us quicker to our Avengers film and then if time is left you can do your IM2 then. But yeah the DCCU plan doesn't bother me the least. I wouldn't mind perhaps an event, but do I need one? No. I prefer they do their own thing instead of just ripping off MARVEL which so far they aren't but everyone else thinks they should to some degree.

I agree with you Decepticonus and Victarion. Most Marvel movies try to set up the next one instead of being a good movie. The only two movies I really, really like are Cap 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Cap 2 really felt character centric, something I wanted to see. Guardians on the other hand was an example of how a funny, yet clever movie is made, featuring a bunch of characters.
I'm not hating on Marvel, but both Avengers have been a huge let down for me. They are so bad in terms of characterization and plot, that it makes me fear the DC won't do any better. Action and jokes is okay, but once you butcher the Ultron character so badly, then it's no longer enjoyable.

Now, I'm a DC guy and I admit that. I don't read nearly as much Marvel as I do DC and I generally feel their tone is much closer to me than is Marvel's.
I've already seen MCU and had I not known better, I would assume that most of their characters are two dimensional, shallow and utterly boring.
Gladly, I know better and I'm still giving them a chance mainly due to Cap. America.

Now, the DCCU is something we haven't seen yet, except for Man of Steel and this is a movie that I absolutely love. The Superman story had exactly as much action, depth and characterization that I expect from a DC property.
The trailer of BvS shows that this trend is going to continue and I personally cannot be more excited about it.

The DCCU can fail of course, and if it does it will feel much worse, since the DC characters are closer to my heart, but I have faith. So should you.

Hopefully every movie will be self-sufficient instead of simply setting up the next big event.

While flawed, i enjoyed Iron Man 3 a lot, felt like a one-shot film focused on the character, wasn't afraid to go against expectaions (Mandarin twist), was fun blockbuster film, and had a few moments of brilliance (the Tony anxiety attacks, which according to people who suffer from them, were aparently very well portrayed in the film).

I have always been more of a DC guy since i became a fan of Batman, him and Superman are my favorite heroes, but i don't feel particularly excited for the film because i believe it's gonna be like Man of Steel and most other Zack Snyder films: Cool action but weird plot and characters, as well as a weak execution of the themes.

Fortunately, he's not the only one behind the DC movies, but i'll be honest, i got excited for Suicide Squad at first, but the image that was released turned me off a bit. And i hated Wonder Woman's casting, would rather have seen the likes of Lynn Collins or someone else who already has enough of a presence to stand among the likes of Superman and Batman.

What i am liking about DC though is that they seem to be making each film its oun thing, so with their movies i think i will mostly wait for the reviews to settle in.

Red Hulk and Sam Alexander aren't remotely the same as the animated DTVs being geared toward Johns' penned stories and the Flash Rebirth retcon being the core portion of the TV series (which feels in retrospect is Johns taking page from the 1990 TV series pilot in the "death of a love one equals hero motivation" camp). I hated it back in 1990, hated it further in 2008, & hate it even more in 2015.

I think it is good that DC does not have a rigid definitive plan. Flexibility is good, it is valuable, as one cannot predict the future.
