Fox would do it. They take great care with their DVD sets.

WB would do it.
Blade Runner DC.
Watchmen DC.
Green Lantern DC.

Oh, worth pointing out none of the above theatrical cuts were hits.

Sony don't or at least didn't have a plan thats the real issue here

they were using TASM2 as trial and error because i think sony must be the most paranoid anxious studio around right now

ASM was following on the heels of TDK and ASM 2 was following on the heels of Avengers. Sony used to be trend setters now they copy tones of movies that make the most money. They can buck that trend with S6.

they don't have to make him spidey all the time. just hav it more of a soap opera type showd give other characters their development and who they are

is that what people go to see the movies for though?

most of his villains are super powered foes, they ain't like the villains in a show like arrow, and in the daredevil show they probably wont have rhino suits, 6 arm technology and that pretty much the thing about spider-mans villains

daredevil will likely have characters like ballseye and electra which isn't that expensive

I'd love to see Marvel incorporate Spidey into The Avengers 3 and give him a brief flashback scene. If they want to build on his origin later on with his own movie so be it. I also want the confidence to come with and only with the mask.

Blade Runner is considered to be a classic movie in today's age and is adored by die-hard film lovers. The multiple home video releases are justified even in today's age because there is going to be a reliable market to sell such a product to. Think of Blade Runner less along the lines of a director's cut to sell, but more along the lines of classic films such as the Exorcist, the Wizard of Oz, and Disney's multiple re-releases of their most popular titles.

Watchmen and Green Lantern though would probably not get new releases if those films were made today. The Director's Cut and Ultimate Cuts of Watchmen were released when the home video market was still rather vibrant and the Extended Cut of Green Lantern was released just as the home video market began to decline.

Also take into account that companies like Warner Home Video and the Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment are far more effective distribution organizations than Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

they are gonna have so many characters in the avengers by the 3rd, i don't think spider-man would fit in beyond supporting character and very small role

It's not about seniority, it's about popularity. The characters most loved by the GA will get the most/best lines and the most screen time. Period.

so even if it was on screen for 10 minutes then thats you really want? aslong as he can hang with ant man, Dr strange ect ect

I don't understand exactly what you're asking... Sorry?

you said its about popularity so i assume you are saying if he hangs with the popular kids it will look good on him even if its for 10 minutes which by avengers 3 it will have more characters and probably a few not involved who are in the current avengers movies

If Marvel and Sony are indeed talking then I've got my fingers crosses for Spider-Man to appear in Daredevil. I'd join Netflix just to watch that episode. Doesn't have to be Garfield but getting him for a weekend to shot the Peter Parker scenes and Spider-Man voice over would be incredible.

No, you're saying he wouldn't fit and he would have a small role. I'm saying he wouldn't have a small role, he'd have a pretty big part. That's why I mentioned popularity. That's what determines how big their part will be. That's why Iron-Man gets a lot of screen time. That's why RDJ gets the best lines.

why is he gonna have a big part over

iron man
captain america
the hulk
thor
ant man
dr stange
presumably the gardians of the galaxy will make an appearance
black window
hawkeye

they are gonna put in this rebooted spider-man in equal role?

Are you saying that because Hawkeye or Black Widdow have been in more MCU movies they deserve a bigger spotlight?

well why shouldn't they?

Absolutely not! You put your best foot forward, not the one that's been there the longest. Period.

You really think they're going to spend a ton of cash to obtain the rights back if they didn't have huge plans for him?

tad disrespectful to their own characters isn't it?

i ain't the one who thinks they will buy it back, nor do i believe they have a secret plan for him

personally i question whether they actually would buy him back from sony, they could wait for them to pretty much give up on spider-man and marvel get him back for nothing, or do they care about sonys well being? after all if marvel can see sony going under they can sit and wait

throw spider-man in the avengers and it won't make anymore money then it would have without him, AOU is gonna break over a billion anyway

It's not about disrespect, it's about marketing. If you can't understand the basic concept of what I'm trying to say then there's no point continuing the conversation.

When watching advertisements for the Avengers before it came out, who was featured the most? We saw a lot of bada$$ Iron-Man shots, why? Because people love RDJ as Iron-Man. It wasn't a Hawkeye commercial, he had his few shots but that's it.

I guess it depends on if Garfield would come back or not. If he does, then just add ASM to the MCU. If he is recast, then option one is most appropriate, reboot Spidey into the MCU.

At this point, do you guys think there's a chance of all the future spinoffs getting cancelled? Why announce all those dates if there was no concrete plan?

They can always be cancelled. Studios will usually set up dates for films far off in advance just so they can secure the release dates. It's much easier to cancel a project than to wait and lose out on a release date that would be beneficial.

The messiness of ASM2 is proof that Sony doesn't know what theyre doing.

It truly is.

That makes sense.

I just figured they had solid plans for their spinoffs since they kind of dropped the hammer down with their news of S6, Venom, and female lead movies all at once.

If you have definitive plans, why not wait to sell the rights after they're done? Their faith has obviously been shaken in their own work. Maybe these rumors are the reason why we haven't received any real news.

The thing to is that if they are going to still do the sinister six they are going to have to start filming in the next few months in less it gets deyland. Remember when asm3 was going to be june 2016 they where going to start filming in octerber of this year so this month. With sinister six being a November 2016 movie that is only 5 months later then asm3 was going to be witch means you would think they would have to start filming it around march and of course you have to find people to cast before you do that and build some sets and stuff so you would think they would maybe already be doing that stuff or at least getting close to doing that.

That's really what's starting to be somewhat of a red flag now.

I think it may have been you or someone else, but even in July we were talking about how October should be around the time we get some news on S6, at least in terms of casting.

There has been absolutely no information other than the fact that Goddard is going to be directing S6. Even though the studio itself isn't saying anything, the fact how silent it has been may be indicative of some of these rumors actually being true.
