What the black suit SHOULD look like!!

Uh we don't even know what the black suit looks like.

the teaser image could be at a certain point in the movie where spidey didnt know how to control the suit.

thats kind of what I'm hoping. Maybe as the movie progresses Peter decides to go for a new look and chooses to look like the old symbiote design. Overall though, I'm not too mad if they don't use the original design as long as they keep the abilities of the symbiote the same. The thing I'm worried about is Venom, I just hope all those rumor's about him aren't true.

I know but if they were to use the familiar white logo they don't have to use Spider-Woman to explain why it is there they can just say Spidey wanted the symbiote to look like that (or Brock)

Ok,
Since I created this thread, I have sat back and listened to all of you and your vast oppinions and found that there are indeed a few of you out there that truely know and I mean KNOW, spidey's history when it comes to the black suit and the symbiote and Venom and secret wars, and so on.
I posted this thread when the first picture of spidey in black went up and all it seemed was just a spray paint job of the red and blue suit. Which I heard some of you say that it makes it look cheap and un creative. All of which I agree.
I went and put together a composite picture of what I thought it should look like...now we get this new sneek peak of Tobey with his black suit under his street clothes...I read that some of you think that the spider doesn't look white.
Some of you have commented that he looks EMO or some thing like that. I read that some of you have remembered that they symbiote causes a mental change in Peter...If you think back or re-read...it even takes him out for a web slinging spin at night while poor Peter is asleep!
As for the spider on the black suit not looking white...I have to disagree and say look closely, it is not virgin white, true...but it does look dingy white...and LOOK at the style of the spider...it's not like the red and blue spider on his chest from the first two movies...it looks more like the black and white costume spider design...now if only we can see if it wraps around the sides and connects to the back like it's suppose to!
As for the EMO look...look at all the pictures which show his black suit under his street clothes...and look at his hair when he is not showing his black suit...his hair looks like it has in all the other movies. So this tells me that the black suit could be the symbiote suit...causing his demeanor or attitude to change along with his physical appearance.
I also want to say thank you to all of you who have made this thread one of the bigger threads at least when it comes to visited. Keep it comming!
And also a big thanks to the one who posted the pictures of the new black suit on here...

Why is everyone saying that the revealed picture of the "black Suit" is in fact the black suit at all. To me, I think it is just a picture of Spiderman in his regular costume in the rain at night. People are reading way too into this. If it were the black suit don't you think they would 1) wait to surprise you that the black suit is even a part of the film's plot. and 2)do the suite right as it appears in the comics. Raimi has been quite acurate in all his portrayals of all the SM characters to this point. Don't you think he would do so with the black suit if it were in SM3? This is just my opinion, but I'm hoping I'm right.

What official pics are you reffering to? Surely your not reffering to the set pics are you? I looked through every last one and nowhere does it show a black (symbiot) suit. Are the pics from this site?

In case you haven't noticed, the movies have done LOTS of things that weren't in the comics. Sony doesn't need it to be in the comics to do it. As I've said, Doc Ock being a nice guy with a wife NOT in the comics. Norman in a Armored suit NOT in the comics. Peter meeting MJ before Gwen, NOT in the comics. Just because they can't have the COMIC reason in there does not mean you can't have it in the movie plain and simple.

Do you realize how badly you contradict yourself here, and how hurtful you are to your own argument. You aren't listing examples of the movies staying faithful to the comics even though they dont have the right reason. You're listing examples of differences from the comics, like a character wearing a different suit. You defend a change of costume on Green Goblin but not on Venom?

I think the symbiote is going to kind of merge with his red and blue costume, turning it into a black version of itself (perhaps with a white spider). It wouldn't make sense for it to take on this new design out of nowhere.

But honestly, I think we really need to wait until we get a good, clear shot of this new suit before we make any judgments. I mean, we saw a hazy Daily Bugle photo, some shots of Tobey with the suit underneath his clothes, and the shot in the rain, which you can't see the logo on. Let's wait for the teaser or maybe comic-con footage to really judge.

I am a bit disappointed in how the black suit looks like. It looks like they painted over the red and blue and called it a day. If that is indeed how it is going to look like...then I say "WTF"! They made the red and blue one look like the one from the comics...why shouldn't the black one be the same as the one in the comics?

Well I took an hour to see what it would look like...I am no pro at this photoshop buisness...but I am convinced it would look great if they followed the original black suit idea.

The suit can make the person look like whoever they want to look like right? Yeah I would prefer the black costume, but maybe Peter chose to look familiar when he's savin citizens.

Its not the armored costume, Sam isn't going to have him jump from dirt poor, to having the funds to make the armored costume, he doesn't work like that.

I will admit though, its a sweeeeeeeet costume! Much better than this new Iron Spider crap!

If I may interject here, I've read quite a few of the threads on this topic. And I think most people here would agree that most of the changes that Sam Raimi has made in SM and SM2 have worked well (ie: no web shooters, hairs on fingers, doc oc's wife, etc...). So how about we wait and see what he does with the story. I personally would like to see the original symbiot suite. But he may do something different that works just as well. I'm not being passive, just optimistic.
