DUDE! ITS NOT PG!!! That article was written by a Variety guy that got it wrong.

MPAA officially rated the prolouge the only first 5 minutes of the film and rated it PG-13. Its PG-13. End of story.

Did you watch the trailers? Or the prolouge? No way its PG. The movie is dark as hell. In the prolouge 5 people are shot. That can't be in PG movies anymore.

Thought I'd bump this thread since it's an actual rating discussion thread and people keep wanting to point out the PG comment.

TDK will not be PG, Nolan is referring to the trailer and prologue. He wants to show off a terrifying character but has to keep it PG.

A movie that features a corpse hanging several stories from the ground with a knife stuck in his chest to hold a note isn't shooting for a PG rating.

The comics in the past 15-20 years if not more have had more violence/blood then allowed in a PG-13 film. It's funny because their still approved by the comic code for all ages.t:

TDK won't be PG at all, but it won't be R either, it will get a PG-13 rating. WB would never have one of their biggest money makers of '08 really only be viewable by people 17 and up. As for that PG statement, I think that was more in the context of the emotion of the film and not the action. I think Nolan meant that the film won't be so dark and mature that it will get an R rating. In terms of violence and language, and other similar things, TDK wont be worse than BB.

It depends on who's writing them. If it's an Alan Moore, then yeah, he can make the most PG character borderline R. But most of Bats' adventures have been about hard PG/PG-13.

TDK is obviously going to be PG-13. The only question remains, how hard PG-13? I'm thinking somewhat similar to Batman Begins. Anyone, who thinks that TDK will be more graphic and more disturbing than Begins, needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

I mean they are trying to sell toys and coloring books with this thing. It won't be a hard PG-13. At least not that hard.

its not only the most logical, but its also the prologues rating, and i dont think were gonna see a more ....'gruesome'...death then being shot or stabbed. so pg13 it is.

it could however get nc-17, i hear jake gylenhaal makes an appearance as one of jokers.....henchmen...

Can´t we go a week on these boards without someone implying/demanding an R-rated Batman movie by WB? LET.GO.OF.IT. WB is not gonna do it, they sell toys out of Batman movies, they want kids and young teens to come... Plus there´re ten thousand ways a movie can be dark, adult and gritty without being R...

yep. i don't think wiether or not kids actually get to see it will impact them wanting the toys to be honest with you. that said, i also don't think wb would ever make a R rated batman movie
