Days of Future Past What you didn't like about X-Men:DOFP - Flaws/Critiques

???

How did Wolverine get his adamantium back at the end of the credit Scene of "The Wolverine"?

Well, he never lost it.

The Silver Samurai cut off his adamantium claws. Because of Wolverine's healing factor the claws grew back, but since the adamantium is not a natural part of his body, they grew back as bone claws. Wolverine can't regenerate the adamantium parts of his body!

So in the post credit scene of the Wolverine, he was without adamantium claws, but still with an adamantium skeleton.

And then, by some way we don't know, he also got the adamantium for his claws back at some point during the next eight years, since he has adamantium claws in the future scenes of DOFP.

well i knew all that, but we still don't know how he has his adimantium claws in days of future past. i didn't realize that eight years passed from the end of the wolverine to days of future past, but it seemed like xavier and magento just realigned themselves with wolverine.

I admit that I had some problems too about how the post credit scene from TS fits into DOFP, but I figured it out myself yesterday after I saw the movie. In 2015, Xavier and Magneto ally because they realize how dangerous the Sentinel project is. They contact Wolverine at the airport. We can't know for sure what happens during the next eight years, but obviously it didn't go very good. Yeah, and somehow Wolverine got his adamantium claws back...

Really dug this movie, alot more character development than a certain other celebrated major team movie that came out a couple years ago.

However, DOFP isn't really a team movie.

And it still has many, many underdeveloped old characters (Storm, Colossus, Kitty) and new ones (Trask, Bishop)

I get that(all films have their share of such things), but I was mainly referring to the lead characters that do get focus. From Mystique to Xavier(in particular) to magneto..it's all there. Whereas in that other movie I can't really see that sort of thing in anyone. More or less Trasks.

You mean that other movie where all the lead characters had individual movies to introduce and develop them?

- Killing Banshee and Emma was disappointing. Wasn't Banshee's daughter in X-mansion in X2 ? Emma has mind trick ability, so she could have tricked people into seeing her dead as we never see her dead pictures.

- They never mention Riptide !

Well I do not want to go off-topic but don't you think that was the purpose of it?it makes it easier for them to just focus on the relationships between them.

I hated the fact that the stinger at the end was all the way after the credits because I really needed to pee.

Upon first viewing:
- I would have liked more future scenes to balance out the characters and periods
-The editing was a bit rough at the beginning
-Was expecting a little more action

I'd say my only real complaint is the lack of Rogue. And it's not even a complaint really, since I already knew going into it that she wouldn't have much (or anything really) to do. Just disappointed things had to work out that way!

With that said, I loved this movie from start to finish. I didn't even notice her absence and I LOVE Rogue so like I said, while I would have loved to see her in a bigger role, it certainly didn't affect my enjoyment of the film. However, I would have actually liked to see more Havok, and I was so sad about Banshee!

I'd say I actually wanted more! I would have loved an even longer fight scene for the future, but what we got was great.

Getting origins and all that stuff out of the way is great and all. Xmen first class for example is just such a film. I'm talking specifically about the character journey from the opening credits to the end credits of this film and the one I'm comparing it too. Look at Xavier's journey and development in this one movie. Who he is at the start, how low he sinks, the turn around, who he is at the end and why..etc. Can't say any such thing for the other movie.
Just saying this film had some great character work/development. In an ensemble no less. Good job.

Killing of Emma and Banshee.
The choice of Kitty Pryde having the power to send consciousnesses back in time.
Sunspots look/power display

Otherwise, none if them a deal breaker. Awesome movie.

Yeah I get what you're saying and I love what they've done with Xavier, the only problem IMO is that X-Men has so many characters, dealing with just a bunch of them automatically gives other characters very little to do

The one major letdown for me was that in the end Singer's return resulted in a Wolverine movie with Magneto doing that thing he does. Only this time Jlaw's relevance and the nature of the book he was adapting forced him to work around a bit.

After first class I had hopes for something different, especially with the inclusion of DOFP source material.

You could easily have gone for a pee in the time it took from the film finishing to the very end of the credits!

Sucks that they didn't explore Iceman's class 4 level powers at the end there. Lot's of possibilities.

Sucks? WTF? We finally got an ice-slide and full ice-form! Look on the bright side!

There was a time when getting things like a full ice mode and such would have pleased me. That time was a decade plus ago. :yay:

All I'm saying is Iceman is surprisingly powerful, especially when he's heart's in it. Would have been interesting seen what he could have really done given all the snow/ice/water around said location.

Rogue only getting ONE scene out of the whole freaking movie! :cmad:

The future Sentinel fights were not great. :( I was excited to FINALLY have enemies for the X-men to actually be able to tear into. And they all got owned and hardly did any damage. At least blink and iceman were great. Sunspot's powers looked pretty cool too.

I didn't like Young Magneto... Wolverine, Charles, and Hank explain to him what needs to be don't then he runs off on his own thing. I was so annoyed with him.

(But he is so handsome and loved his power display)
