Gangster Squad

A solid pulp gangster film that has a pretty good cast. The film lets you know from the get go that it's meant to be almost like a comic book. Josh Brolin's character reminded me a lot from The Shadow and that was kinda awesome. I thought he was the best part aside from Sean Penn. Overall I kinda wish to see what was cut from the film because I can see it being better than what it was.

As stupid spoof parodies go, this was a funnier film than those crappy Friedberg and Seltzer films. And unlike Friedberg and Seltzer, this actually sticks to one theme they are spoofing. That being said, I'm pretty sure this beats out Scary Movie 5 by default.

Silver Linings Playbook

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence both did a fantastic job playing pretty much two crazy people finding each other. It's nice to see that it was a rom-com but they did something new with it.

I was bored so I went to see this movie, and I just couldn't get into it so I left early. It was just so lame and unfunny, and I'm not sure I'll see SM5 neither..

I've got that with the 2-Pack Blu-Ray that included Dirty Harry. I'll get around to watching it but I'm going to watch the original Dawn of the Dead. Haven't watched it in a few years and the copy I watched was screwed up.

One of Van Damme's better films and he actually co-wrote it, the plot takes the tournament formula and builds a solid little heroes journey around it with some decent fight scenes, they don't have movie beasts like the guy he fights at the end anymore!. 7/10
