About Schmidt - 9/10

Boning up on Alexander Payne when when he comes to the Drydon to present Sideways and for the Q&A. But this film is pretty great. I've only seen this and The Descendants but this is better. Nicholson is wonderful as usual and naked Kathy Bates wasn't as horrifying as I thought it would be. Though I won't downplay this: It's still horrifying.

The Darjeeling Limited - 9/10

Might be my favorite Wes Anderson film.

Warm Bodies - 4/5, not a bad little movie, another posted it being a Romeo & Juliet romantic zombie and yeah it's kind of like that but it was ok.

Identity Thief - 3/5, normally when a comedy goes over 90 minutes it's a sign that there are some unfunny filler moments to pad out and make it longer which is the case here, I just hate when R-rated comedies start getting sappy and sweet near the end of the movie.

Obviously if someone steals your identity ones going to go bats@#$ crazy and let the police handle not go on a wacky road trip and at the [blackout]end make amends to the one person that ruined your life.[/blackout]

It takes a special kind of ineptitude to put something this bad out. The sad thing is there are the seeds of some interesting themes in here, unfortunately it's assembled in such an incoherent manner that they are lost amidst the terrible script, horrid editing and amateur direction. The acting is phoned in bar the penultimate scene of Mimi Rogers that just adds to the feeling of wasted potential.

"It takes a special kind of ineptitude to put something this bad out"
LOL what a great quote.

Iron Man 2. Some elements definitely needed revision (Hammer is a lot more interesting than the main villain, SHIELD bits seem unnecessary, too little Iron Man) but still very entertaining and not deserving of the hate it gets.

I think Iron Man 2 isn't the best of MS, in fact it's one of their lower tier, however, it's not bad. It's just Iron Man is great, and Iron Man 2 is good.

Yeah, I can get behind that.

Also watched Moonrise Kingdom recently. Really liked it, but a little disappointed by how little Bill Murray was in it.

Star Wars
Iron Man 2 (on Telemundo) (watched the rest of it after the Hawks game, even though I don't speak much Spanish and own the movie anyways, yet find the Spanish versions of movies to be entertaining for some reason)

Paranormal Activity 4. What a puddle of hippopotamus diarrhea.

1/5

Batman/Superman: World's Finest

7.5/10

Good but you can tell just how much of a Mary Sue Batman has to become to keep up with Supes(who himself is also a Mary Sue but they needed to nerf him here). Of course Timm always had a ridiculous bias in favor of Batman.

The boyfriend and I decided to have a chill, low-key Redbox night on Saturday, so we rented a couple movies ...

Ted: Nowadays, I find Family Guy and Seth MacFarlane to be quite insufferable, so I had pretty low expectations for this. Yes, this is a stupid movie, but it's so stupid and silly that you can't help but laugh. There were a few jokes that fell flat for me (the Family Guy-esque cut scene gags, to be exact), but I laughed throughout most of the movie. Overall, I really enjoyed it!

Seven Psychopaths: I had pretty high expectations for this (mostly because of the amazing cast), but ... I was sadly disappointed! :( There are some brilliant and hilarious moments in the film, but the overall tone was completely off. Now, I love me some black comedies, but I don't think this movie fully pulled it off. I think a part of it is because I think the movie was too busy being infatuated with itself at times. There were scenes that screamed pretentiousness to me, which kind of made the film fall flat for me.

Kick-Ass: This was on Spike TV after we finished the Redbox movies. I love Kick-Ass, end of story. :) (PS- though I was kind of shocked to see how little the violence in the film was edited for TV.)

That's pretty much exactly how I feel about Iron Man 2. I've watched Iron Man 2 several times since it came out on Blu-Ray. I think it's a fun little movie, and not even in a guilty pleasure way for me! It's just fun, and I like it! :)

Tower of Death (Game of Death II after dubbing)
Man, the bad dub is so bad it's awesome :funny:, I can't give it any less than 7/10 for being entertaining

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013)

Eh, it was ok, mostly for the novelty kills. It's sad that Guillermo Del Toro is the only guy who can pull these kinds of movies off these days. The cast all did well, but I would've liked it if they hadn't put the witch make up/CG on Famke Janssen's face, she's got a great evil lady face on her own.

Ted
It made me laugh, so it was good, for me. Very few comedy movies nowadays make me laugh. They're usually just fun, but Ted is funny.
9/10
