Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. 5/5
After watching Plinkett's review of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I decided to revisit one of my favorite films. Still holds up.

I read that as:

"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. 5/5"

and I nearly had a heart attack.

The actual story even what makes the original so great. It's the endless 80s cheesy, leagues of questionable acting done by all and the endless tropes that sprang from it.

I agree there.

You don't understand the original at all then. It was phenomenal.

I understood it fine. It's Verhoven's lesser film. His RoboCop & Starship Troopers were much better.

I didn't say TR was a bad movie but it has a good deal of problems. I don't think the blood and guts action of the movie really gels well with the higher concept story that they got from Dick's work. Still, it is one of the better film adaptions of his stories but most of those have been awful.

Oh, and the "you didn't like it as much as I did therefore you just didn't get it" argument is a poor one.

Bachelor Party - every big star started in low budget sex comedies that it's weird picturing Tom Hanks star in his one and only sex comedy that he looks out of place re-watching it again, I think because of his nice guy face.

Everyone, calm down. There is no reason to insult people over their opinion of Total Recall. On that note, I got some reading to do.

Men in Black 3.

Wow, I cant belive I nearly missed this movie. From the few trailers I watched this appeared to me as a simple and desperate attempt to cash in using this franchise. Anyway, I rented it the other night to give it a chance and I think it was a absolutely great movie. Went way beyond what I was expecting with a great story :wow:. I regret not going to the theater to see this one. My judgement must be getting worse the older I get.... hmmm...

To those that havent seen it, give it a watch its great.

Same here, I think it would have been, hands down, the best Bond movie if Connery was in it.

Though there's is always this argument in my mind which potential Bond movie that didn't happened would have been better: Connery in OHMSS or Blofeld as the main villain in The Spy Who Loved Me.

And I think Lazenby would have definitely gotten better over time as Bond. As Roger Moore had shown, not all of them gets it perfect the first movie.
It took me about an hour to get used to Lazenby, once I got used to him he fit like a glove. Though it wasn't a good movie to introduce a new face with the story that was told. It would of been great with Connery and the five prior adventures we've gone along with him. Again seeing Connery at the end would of been almost painful to see him so close to happiness. Watching the extras where they mention Connery was supposed to do OHMSS but it was delayed and instead he did You Only Live Twice. Once again to what could of been.

^ Someone's going through a Bond marathon.

I've been meaning to watch them since I got the Blu-Ray collection as my Christmas gift to myself. I finally got started once I got settled from my move. I've been having a blast going through them and rewatching some of my favorites that I haven't seen in years.

My problem with the movie is the length, and the fact that neither Rogen or Heigl are even mentioned in the movie. It's like they don't exist. Apatow's reasoning for it doesn't make any sense either. A mention won't take away the attention from Mann and Rudd. Plus, it gets super awkward when most of their family is at the party at the end except for them.

On another note, I found Leslie Mann so much hotter in this than I did in Knocked Up or Funny People.

Yeah, you'd thing they would have cameo'd for at least a scene that would have set up why they weren't around.

She's a cougar!

Part Predator, part Alien, part Jurassic Park and a scene lifted directly from T2, I guess if you are gonna steal, steal from the best. To it's credit the location shooting is decent, Dacascos is a likable lead and they use a lot of man in a suit effects to offset the poor CGI. 5/10

Django Unchained (2012)

Good stuff from QT as usual. I was surprised to see it was completely linear, with traditional flashbacks. Amazing work from the entire cast. My only real issue was the extra 20 minutes at the end. The film could've ended just as easily with that first shootout.

Star Wars (1977)

I've been due of a saga revisit for a while. What better time than now?

The Other Guys

Went in with no knowledge or expectations and was thoroughly entertained the whole way through. Hope there is a sequel one day.

A solid 9/10 from me.
