Oz: The Powerful ..whatever.

Well, I had extremly low expectations after reading bashings from the fanboys in the Oz-thread here. Probably that helped me to have a really good cinema time. A female friend wanted to see this, and I just hanged on. Well, we really enjoyed that flick.

The nods to the old classic movie were great, and Kunis and Franco were of course way better than trampled on in the Oz-thread. I really had a good Raimi moment watching this. Not perfect, but a highly enjoyable flick. Even in 3D, which I usually despise.


Once Around (1991)

I watched this light hearted Lasse Hallström drama at the cinema back then, and loved it. It's always quite interesting to rewatch old flicks to see if they work decades after.

Well this one does IMO. Charming story and with that cast you can't go wrong (well, mostly). Cast: Richard Dreyfuss, Holly Hunter, Danny Aiello, Laura San Giacomo, Gena Rowlands.

I wanted to re-watch Army of Darkness but it doesn't look like I'll have time before I see the new one.

I purposely didn't watch any of them recently. I wanted to give the new film a fair trial. I love all the Evil Dead films though. Next week I plan to watch Evil Dead , ED 2 , AOD , and My Name is Bruce.
