I kind of felt the same way, but I'm not sure the twist would have been as shocking now as it was in the early 90s, when there weren't as many movies that dealt with [blackout]transgender themes[/blackout]. I was surprised, though, that the twist [blackout]was in the middle of the movie; prior to seeing it, I thought the twist was at the end[/blackout].
Yeah. Even if you do know the twist already, it still leads to interesting character and thematic development.Absolutely. Nevertheless it's still a damn surprising thing upon reveal if not known.I too thought it was at the end.
It's a greattwist because it's like enjoying a great meal and later discovering it had to-fu in it. Do you still love it regardless of what's in it or do you hate it because you found out it's something you thought you wouldn't like?
