I said way back that I was gonna see if I can resume this horrible film...and I did finish it. I can say for a fact that Birdemic made more sense than this movie ever could.
1/10

Inside Llewyn Davis

I enjoyed it, it's got a great soundtrack. Oscar Isaac was incredible and John Goodman was hilarious. It's got all the things you expect from a Coen brothers film.
8.5/10

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Starring Bill Murry, Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett...

8/10 :)

The Devil's Double

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Zero Dark Thirty

Damn! 1/10? I really don't care for Shane Carruth's films so far but I'm shocked you gave it a 1. :woot: I don't want him to go mainstream but he needs to tone down the "I'm smarter than everyone" bull ****.

Wreck-It Ralph. Needed a good laugh and cry after this past weekend.

Yeah, I can't find one good thing about the movie. lol It's s***** filmmaking at its highest.

I liked Primer for what it was but man, I just can't get into UC. I've tried and tried but meh, I'm not too worried about it. I like to think that I have an affinity for adventurous, artistic and experimental film making but there's a limit to how much weirdness I can take. Guess I enjoy clear narratives too much

The Fly. Ugh, there's just something about this movie. I love it don't get me wrong but it strikes some deep and primal chord within me. Guess that's why I love it really. Takes a brilliant storyteller and film maker to hit that kinda nerve. Sends chills up my spine

Shane Carruth does come off as pretentious sometimes in these films of his. I have no problems experimenting with storytelling but he seems to play by his own set of rules and people act like they understand them or that there's some deeper meaning to them.

Maybe there is but that's also part of the pretension.

Batman '89.

It was glorious, special screening at my local Harkins.

Fruitvale Station. Phenomenal film, great performances and one of the few out there that don't really attempt to make him seem righteous. While I think they do a bit especially by making the cops worse than they actually were. They could have done a lot worse in that department, most movies would have made the cops complete enemies but here they're just normal people too although huge missed oppotunity showing the cops reaction, his reaction is very telling in that he mistakingly shot him and that scene with him and Durand holding hands is one of the best of 2013. anyways 9/10

'Robot & Frank'

I really liked this. Charming and quite touching. 7.5/10

Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters

Wreck-It Ralph. Needed a good laugh and cry after this past weekend.

That's gotta be one of the best endings to any animated movie that I've ever seen. I was not expecting it to end on that note, but that final shot and line of dialogue is just so perfect and beautiful. Easily one of the biggest surprises of my life, I loved Wreck-It Ralph (I'd give it a 10/10 because I could see myself watching that film any other day I see it on).

Green Street Hooligans: Definitely one of the craziest movies I've ever seen. Violent, vulgar, tragic and funny, this film has got to be one of the best crime movies I've ever seen. No guns involved, just fists and kicks (and a couple other foreign objects used as weapons). You feel like you're in with these hooligans when you're watching the film, and the intensity of the final brawl will stick with you (especially with the tragic turn that it takes). The film is a bit depressing with the tragic turn it takes at the end, but it was necessary and it makes you view things differently on the next viewing. A powerful film, indeed. - 9/10

^^^ From what I hear it probably has better special effects than the Lutz one that just got released. :rimshot:
