Snowpiercer

Joon-ho Bong directed this who directed The Host (the Korean film) so this film have a lot of that Korean filmmaking touch.

I can't wait to see this one, looks great.

On another note. I'm sure you've already seen these Joon-ho Bong films but he also did Mother and Memories of Murder. Antarctic Journal was ok but not as great as his other films.

Triassic Attack

A really cheesy knockoff of Jurassic Park only with crappy CGI, no park and the dinosaurs are skeletons reanimated by a slightly looney American Indian. In otherwords, a SyFy movie. This was sad even for SyFy.

I only watched it because it had a then-unknown Emilia Clarke in it.

1.5/5

I wanted to see Memories of Murder for a while now, but I haven't heard of Mother.

But I'm glad to see Kang-ho Song getting more work, that dude is awesome.

Both of those are really good, especially Memories.

As an adaptation of Morrison's Earth Two, this wasn't good. As a stand alone movie? I guess it's okay - the fights were very well done and the banter between Superwoman, Owlman and Batman were the highlights... but there were a lot of drawbacks. The plot mainly centers around Owlman's idea [BLACKOUT]to wipe out all of existence [/BLACKOUT]. If the writers couldn't adapt Morrison directly, at least come up with something better than that. I will say this however - the plan was explained very well, but the fact remains that it was yet another generic plot device we have seen countless times. Other issues I had were regarding the lack of material given to most of the characters. Opportunities for character interactions were traded off in favor of fighting (the apparent status quo for many of DC's animated movies i'm afraid). Along with that came some questionable voice acting from Superman, Ultraman and Johnny Quick. Just not to my liking. Overall, this is a serviceable DC animated feature that could have been so much better.

Creepshow and Life of Pi. Beautiful films for their own reasons.
