War For The Planet Of The Apes
10/10

Perfect film for a perfect trilogy.

One Percent Humid. A little affected, but pretty interesting character study.

Cult of Chucky - 8.5/10

An enjoyable entry in the series with maybe a little bit too much of Bride/Seed humour creeping in at times, which was my only gripe. Fiona Dourif's really great here too, especially in the last ten minutes or so.

Stand by Me (1986)

Another one of those films I've only seen parts of growing up but never sat through the whole thing before. Interesting story, great acting, incredibly quotable and arguably the best projectile vomiting scene ever filmed.

Rings (2017)

The CGI technology has obviously improved since the remake and there are plenty of creepy visuals in this sequel but it's not nearly as chilling as either the remake or the original. I didn't think it was as entertaining either and had a hard time rooting for the characters. The interesting new addition is that after a professor accidentally watches the VHS tape he starts an experiment with dozens of students watching and copying the tape which leads to a woman finding new unseen footage. Vincent D'Onofrio gives a pretty good performance in the later half of the film but I probably wouldn't recommend this for fans of Ringu and its remake.

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (1975)

I didn't know there was a Doc Savage movie so this was a treat. One of George Pal's lesser works it definitely feels dated and some of the acting is bad but visually I think it fits the source material well enough plus some of it was actually kind of fun.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 - 9/10

Woah.. bloody excellent. Vince Vaughn is a bad-ass bordering on damn near supernatural entity in this! Director S. Craig Zahler doesn't hold back on the brutality or gore so if you enjoyed Bone Tomahawk then this is right up your alley. I can see it becoming a cult classic.

Blade Runner 2049, near perfect, if not perfect in fact, 10/10.

Pop Aye - Neat story about a man and his pet elephant. Hilarious at points too.*- 7.5 / 10

It's on my queue... can't wait to see it.
