INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULLS
Quality = 7.5/10
Joy = 7/10

Nice return of the old heat, and Shia LaBeouf is entertaining.
The CGI is more questionable than it is in some older movies, so there is that part to pick it up.
The last half hour is where things really get questionable, like did the tribe of that place just die and nobody cared? How did the group escape the watery place to be precise?
I gotta say that this is a disappointing script by David Koepp, entertaining as usual, but a disappointing one.

Ranking them on joy scale so far:
  • Last Crusade
  • Temple of Doom
  • Raiders of the Ark
  • Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls

Next stop for the series: The Phantom (1996)
Don't ask me why, it's written by the writer of the Last Crusade and it feels like one. I have a few stops in mind before I do get to it though, starting with Thor: Ragnarok.

i feel pretty much the same about kingdom of the crystal skulls.
i did like the 1950s + aliens angle though. that was a nice change from previous indiana jones mythology.

last movie i watched was The Stool Pigeon:

The_Stool_Pigeon-p6.jpg

The Stool Pigeon is a 2010 Hong Kong-Chinese action thriller film directed by Dante Lam and starring Nicholas Tse, Nick Cheung and Gwei Lun-mei. The film is about police detective, Don Lee (Cheung), who uses informants to gain information about gangsters. Lee begins to feel guilty when his informants are caught, but sends out a street racer named Ghost (Tse) as an informant to gain information about a gangster name Barbarian (Lu Yi).

aside from a little too much contrived/melodramatic subplots, the story and pacing is good.
lot of good tension build up.
some nicely filmed, choreographed car chase scenes.
the two lead actors were great - i was really engaged through most of the movie.

it almost felt like a bleak, nihilistic hong kong version of the first fast & furious movie.
8.5/10

What can I say? I hoped for awesomeness and it didn't disappoint.

[BLACKOUT]I do have one observation to point at, aside from that it is the most proud of being a comic book movie, and that "SON OF ODIN" and being put to rest like in the first movie: Why is lightning dude zapped by electricity into submission?[/BLACKOUT]

This movie is great, I'm proud of it, and I'm obliged to take a moment of silence in memory of our good friend and biggest Thor enthusiast, the mod of thunder; Vartha.

The skulls made me think of Xenomorphs to some extent, and the 6th dimensional creatures -whose species name eludes me at the moment- from the JLA arc that splits the heroes from their alteregoes.

Glad you did it, congrats :yay:

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Just like with the previous movies, I enjoyed the hell out of it. Where the Hunger Games falls apart at the finish line and the Divergent series just falls off a cliff, Maze Runner ends on a high note. It's almost 2 and a half hours long, yet it went by pretty fast. They were smart enough to pack everything into one movie instead of splitting into two. The plot is pretty much one big rescue mission, so the action never really slows down. While most of the cast did a fine job (like Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario), I thought the standouts were Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Rosa Salazar. Also, Walton Goggins shows up and he has a couple of scene stealers. Overall, it's by far the best YA novel adaptation series and it's just a great trilogy in general.
9/10

Raw Deal ............. C

Terrible, but in the best ways. First time seeing it. This movie has a gravel pit shootout with Arnold Schwarzenegger in a convertible blasting Rolling Stones' Satisfaction.

Captain Underpants: The First Movie - Surprisingly quite creative and very entertaining. - 7.5 / 10

I forgot that three episodes arc from Superman: TAS.

Yeah, I'm not sure that STAS was ever released on DVD here in the UK but it's nice to have that movie at least. Showed a great first time Bats/Supes team-up.

Justice League 8/10

I quite enjoyed it. Was worth the money to see on the big screen for me.
